INTRODUCTION
Event management is defined as process of managing and organizing special event for
those people who expect to collect precious moment with friends, family and others. This
procedure of conducted in the context of varied events that has been organized in the world and
are in demand for several reasons whether it is personal or professional. It is quite important and
beneficial for a company or event organizer to develop the best event management plan, as it
drives their attention towards consumer satisfaction whether they are belonging to communities
or business world. The current assignment will be based on Four Season, which falls under the
category of five star hotels, London, UK. The study will explain personal reflective statement
about varied forms of events that individual has experienced in their practical and education
knowledge. It will also define professional etiquette needed to be successful in the event
management sector and key strategic as well as operational problems within conference,
banqueting and overall industry. Furthermore, lastly the report will justify comprehending and
knowledge about 3 to 4 food production systems and food & beverage service methods.

I have experienced amazing time during different types of events that has been organized
in this world, for different reasons and these are;
Conferences or meetings-
This event may organize and arrange for commercial purpose, which drive the attention
of all stakeholders toward gathering at specific location, where they may make important
discussion (Xie and Wang, 2017).
Seminars-
It is one of those events that are small, and based on important discussion regarding study
materials and certain might be held in the business world.

This forms of functions are organized in the organizations for purpose of developing &
encouraging candidates to perform even better than before.
Trade fairs-
This type of events are planned and arranged in order to launch new items and services
that a company may provide or serve to target market.
Business dinners-
Just like above, this event is also organized for different purpose and that is to end
financial era and celebrate the achievements as well as success of ventures & their candidates.
Sports events-
An event firm or organizer may conduct practice to organize this event is to entertain
millions of people who are passionate about varied events such as cricket, football, etc (Lee
Ludvigsen, 2018).
Press conferences-
Most of the press conference in the world of business are organized to inform people
about new product, business and something innovative that has been innovated by a company or
individual.
Networking events-
The most amazing events in the corporate sector is current one, which may enable a
person to build their contact with professional and successful entrepreneurs.
Trade fairs-
A trade fair event may provide organizations chance to interact with consumers and allow
them to do so in the context of businesses and products that they may tend to offer them.
Mega events-
A mega event is being held on large or major scale in the international market and
organized by special authority in effective manner such as Olympic games, IFA, world cup of
football, etc (Sroka, 2021).

This considers as social event where different types of individuals gather to enjoy the
moment and communicate with each other (Davis and Foley, 2019). This form of event is
organized by specific event manager or firm.

It is defined as any function that may expect to gain the attention of millions visitors in
access that may help to increase profits margin (Jones and Ponzini, 2018). These events are
exhibitions, concerts, and others.

2- Identifying professional etiquette required to be successful in event management industry
In order to be successful and profitable in the event management sector, Four Season may
consider certain professional etiquette, which is quite essential for company to take into their
consideration. For example, it is important for hotel and its management to follow ethical
practices and conduct each in effective manner, as it may give them chance to retain target
market or consumer and gain the attention of new. It can be said that when individual person
treat others in respectful manner, they may in return obtain the same treatment (Venske, 2018). It
may help to build strong and trustworthy relationship between them, which is essential for
individual person to do so. By conducting ethical practices, candidates in the organization may
enhance the satisfactory level of consumers who are tending to visit in of those companies or
hotels where employees follow and conduct ethical business practices appropriately. Along with
above professional protocol, chosen hotel and its stakeholders may follow more etiquette that
may support to retain potential & loyal consumers (Etiquette & Ethics in Event Management:

to acquire more who are capable to conduct word of mouth promotion after obtaining appropriate
satisfaction from event organizer and company services.
They may effort to determine the needs and requirements as well as expectations of

successful entrepreneurs, companies, or individual person follow the concept of sustainable and
ethical practices. It can be said that whether it is men or women, both are treated in similar
manner that is essential and consider as ethical practice. For purpose of being a successful
company or business, event organizer may effort to follow varied professional ethics and
etiquette, which enable them to sustain in the event industry for longer time.
The best thing that management may do is value of time, for example, employees and
event manager may value the time of their consumers, vendors and other stakeholders. They
may always prompt with their communication and interact with others in ethical way.
Maintaining confidentiality is another professional protocol that make event organizer
or manager successful in event management sector in term of running venture appropriately and
in productive manner (Bhushan and et.al., 2021). When they are working with group of people
and for specific target market, it is necessary that they may have access to information that is
sometimes meant for their consideration only. It means they have to maintain the confidentiality
in term of using strong password and keeping personal info about anyone safe, instead of sharing
with third party, who may misuse that and share with others.
3- Analyzing the key strategic and operational issues within Banqueting, Conference and event
sector
While organizing any event in the industry, event manager or organizer may deal with
varied issues that may put negative impact on their growth and success. They may face problems
within conference, event and banqueting sector and these are;
Pricing issue-
Organization and event manager may face this challenge when fluctuation happen in the
context of social factor. For example, changing demand and preferences to customers may put
negative impact on pricing strategy of company (Ampofo, 2020). It may lead to increase work
pressure on management to make possible changes within current practices and efforts regarding
event, which is not possible. Due to this factor, organization may face current issue in term of
changing overall costs of a specific event for which it may charge particular amount of money
from client.
Marketing issue-

Another strategic issue is related to marketing, due to terms and policies fluctuation by
governmental bodies (Ziakas, 2019). It may affect negatively upon current advertising actions
and decisions of management, which lead to increase work load and pressure upon team
members. Another reason of this challenge is heavy competition in the market, which drive the
attention of each event management company or organizer toward developing the best and most
influencing contents to promote their efforts that may help to acquire new consumers. Any
change regarding these two concepts may affect overall strategic decision process,
Booking dairy-
This concept covers in category of operational issue that may put direct impact on
operation of frond office department in Four Season about reservation. For instance, change
related to economic growth may become the reason of this challenge. When people are unable to
spend money for expensive and long duration weekends, they may do not make any kind of
booking in hotels and expect to plan any event. It may lead to decrease organizational
productivity and profitability. Just because of this force they may suffer a lot in varied terms.
Event contract-
It also included in those categories in which above one is covered. When rules and
regulations regarding event contract may change, it put negative impact on overall planning and
practices of event manager. It may create challenges for them to restructure everything
accordingly current changes that is not possible for them to do so in short time duration,
especially when they taken order to many events and plan to grab change to be profitable. They
may follow rules according to new contract such as COVID-19 guidelines regarding wedding
and other types of events.

Food production systems-
Call order-
According to this system, within F&B industry, management may take approach to take
order and prepare meal by following the order details may give by the consumers. In most the

drive the attention of candidates to serve food according to order after reheated that in
appropriate manner which is beneficial for them in term of saving time and efforts to prepare that
meal for specific group of people or individual person.

French service-
This method is quite unique in term of practices and servings manners. For example, in
french service system, each food items according to guest needs are completely or partly prepare
at table side of all guest. It may enable food servers to use the best heating tools and units to keep
food fresh and tasty that people prefer to eat.

The best and most comfort type of food and beverage method is current one, according to
which management may arrange a long table upon which each type of food items are already
placed or designed. It may enable individual person to choose and eat foods according to their
preferences. Plates, spoons and other essential items according to this approach are conveniently

This type of service or method is used in order to serve food to many guests who are
invited to take pleasure of specific event, whether it is wedding or other. In this form of event,

On the basis of above discussion, it has been summarized that by development
appropriate plan regarding event management, organizations have gained expected benefits in
term of gaining competitive edges. With the help of this approach they have handled each type of
issue whether it is operational or strategic, that helped to increased productivity and performance
level as well as increased profitability.
