INTRODUCTION
The conference and banqueting management is a type of industry where businesses and
organizations provide different kinds of services like hotel, restaurants, bar and many more
services (Seal and Mattimoe, 2017). This industry is known as hospitality and there are many
companies working in this sector. This is vast sector in the UK and many opportunities are
generated in this field. In this report, the scale, scope and service areas are described and it
focuses on the company “Service on a Plate”. The organization provides local contracts and
catering services for different events and conferences.

Scope of this industry is divided into two main parts that are conferences and banqueting.

desired destination for joy and celebrating their happiness (Davis and et.al., 2018). Number of
industries and organizations that facilitate many events and organizational activities are based on
the size of that particular industry. There are many seminars, events, functions and conferences
which are organized according to the preferences of clients.

There are many factors that influence and affect this industry. This sector is very vast and
profit generating and so, there are several factors that can strongly affect the development of this
sector. These types of factors should be acknowledged by this sector. There are events which
consist of different ways of either arranging many business meetings or celebrating several
office's conferences. In the development of this industry, there are some factors which can
influenced to this sector. These factors are like socio – culture, political, legal, economic,
environmental and technological which are as follows:
1. Socio – culture factor – In the social factors, there are many things which are related to
the society and these things have a great impact on the development of the conference
and banqueting management industry (Owusu-Mintah and Dacosta, 2017). These factors
include, age, gender and living standard of people that may affect the developments.
2. Political factor – Politics means the power of that nation in every aspect. In the politics,
there are many policies, strategies and plans made for the growth of that nation. This is an
essential thing to note this factor. The rules and regulations made for successive of the
UK government, are very important thing for every business.

to this, the main issue are performance related, quality related and operational challenges.

fundamentals such type of issues can affect every business which is run and provides its
services in the hospitality industry.
Strategies issues – In the strategic issues, it contains the management planning and
