BUSINESS PLAN 1
Business plan: Barcode reader for museums
Overview of the business plan:
The museum app is a unique business idea that has been developed to create an
interactive opportunity among the people of almost all age groups to get the experience of
museum anywhere with the help of this app. The idea is to increase the popularity of the
museum and to curb on the decreasing popularity of it from the children and adults. This app
has a unique feature that will enable to view each and every component of the museum in a
more interactive manner, perhaps in a 3D mode (Mankut 2018). The app will be available in
different languages as well that can used by people all over the globe. With the increase in the
number of amusement parks and other places to play and enjoy, the children are no longer
getting found to be interested in museums but it has to be understood that museums are great
places for improving knowledge and to know about our past and history. This app can be
available in all the mobiles and tabs and can be used by people from all the age group. This
way, the app can be utilised by all and that its reach will also be very high.
Operation & Operating Costs:
Operations:
The operational activity for developing an app requires preparedness and adapting to
the necessary resources. Developing an app will not suffix but it also requires taking into
account the safety and privacy of the app users as well. At times, a third party involvement
for the development of the app, like the graphic or the animation of the app can also fall
under the operational activity.
Types of Business:
App can be considered as an online business that is created with technical expertise.
Accordingly to the view point of Xue et al. (2017), unlike websites that can be easily created

BUSINESS PLAN 2
by a person with little technological expertise, an app requires much knowledge of coding
and software development proficiency.
Employees:
The software engineers or the app developers will be the employees for this particular
business. There might be involvement of a graphic designer as well for the better visual
application of the app. Apart from this group of technical team, there lays the need of a
marketing team as well who shall be responsible for the advertisement of the product as well
as branding. In the age of innovation and competition, the importance and role of
advertisement and branding cannot be denied and thus, involvement of marketing team for
this new product is necessary (Mankut 2018).
Suppliers:
There are no such suppliers for supplying apps but since the idea is to make the app
available to people from all ages and backgrounds, the app has to be supplied by the major
app downloading places like Google Play Store and Apple Store (Nolen, 2017).
Facilities & Equipment:
Development of an app does not require many facilities in the business but the
provision of a place (perhaps an experimentation laboratory) with proper high speed internet
connection so that the necessary programs can be run easily without any major issue. App
development products for the sketching, CAD or any other viewing formats that can used for
both the Android and the iOS platform are needed. However, it must be kept under
consideration that the registration of the app is important in order to launch it in the Android,
iOS or any other platform (Chaffey 2016).
The equipment that is required including a computer and its accessories for
developing an app include the software development kit. This kit usually comes with a source

code, developer tool and also the app for testing. Considering the app development, there has
to be options of navigation and also GPS so that the App can redirect to the particular
location and that the app can detect the language of the particular location. This way people
would be able to use the app and can personalised the same as well. Moreover, this app can
gain greater acceptability all over the world for these features.
Health & Safety:
Developing an app shall not impact on health of the app developer because the
functionality is not related to any kind of risky affairs but reading Chaffey (2016) it has been
known that the exposure to silicon or infra-red rays might have long term impact on the
person under the influence; the end result might be as degrading as resulting in cancer.
Considering the issue of safety in developing an app, it has to be said there has been
an increasing cases of cyber theft and phishing and that the app has the greater possibility of
incurring a mal function. As commented by Al Ayubi et al. (2016), the technology has
reached to such height that there is none can be immune to any security issue.
Professional Help:
Help from the professional app developer might be required that would eventually act
as a third party. It is expected that since the app is all about 3D animation, the professional
help for this particular feature might require (Burton and Felker 2015). The help of a legal
person who shall be guiding for the registration of the app is also required in this respect.
Budget for the operating cost:

Internet charges 100

Rent of laboratory 5,000
Electricity 1,000
Administrative charges 2,000
Communication 2,000
Miscellaneous 2,000
Total 42,400
Table: Proposed budget for the app development
The above proposed budget gives an idea of the basic facilities and equipment needed
for developing the app. There would be requirement of downloading various applications or
software to develop this app that would be chargeable. Other costs include salaries of the
members involved, electricity and others. It is expected that an initial investment of around
$50,000 would be enough for the app.
