Part 1: Information collection
The present project reflects on redesigning of the network system using layered approach for
the Barranquilla Plaza Hotel. It is very much important to determine the problems with the present
design of the network so that the further business needs of the organization can be met. Therefore, it is
necessary to collect important information related with the management, IT staff as well as users of the
hotel. They are mainly asked in order to properly provide the personal opinion about the issues as well
as challenges that are very much relevant to the network [3]. Some of the important questions are
mainly considered for the purpose that are generally dependent on the questionnaire that is created.
The created questionnaires are mainly distributed to the various management teams, IT staffs as well as
users in order to get proper information about the issues that the hotel is presently facing and for
implementing proper solutions that is mainly related with the issues. The various questionnaires are
generally reflected below:

 Does the router that is mainly used within the network system is helpful in providing proper
signal or the network system needs improvement?
 Does the Wi-Fi speed that is provided is acceptable for undertaking different types of services
which mainly needs good internet connection?

 Does downloading content from the online sites creates problem?

 In how much speed the file transfer occurs wirelessly and what improvement is generally
required within the speed?
 Does the network-based equipment is based on the latest edition and how the software is
mainly needed for the entire management of the network?
 Does proper facility of file sharing is present with the help of the network and does the facility
that is present is reliable?

number of users who wants server with the facility of network within a single time?

which areas generally required proper facility of wireless connection?
 Does the network solution which is mainly considered for the entire organization is generally
upgraded and what is age of the entire network infrastructure?
 Does the various types of security issue that is generally determined within the network and
when security breaches like incident generally occurs?
 Does it is necessary to monitor the entire network that is generally preferred?
 Does the present network generally consider the specific place where the organizations
generally need to properly monitor the activities in order to make sure that proper control for
the network-based application?

 What is the internet plan that is utilized by the organization for proper internet facilities?
 Does the network plan generally have proper control on the security for the applications for the
different hotel’s department?
 Does the hotel departments are categorized in context to the required bandwidth?
 Is there any one of the hotel department that generally needs proper bandwidth in all the time
and is there is any change within the scope for providing proper facility to different departments
of the hotel?
Purpose of the questionnaires
When the entire network is effectively redesigned then it is generally considered as one of the
complex procedure where proper information is generally needed and it is found from different network
users as they generally assists in giving appropriate insights about the different types of challenges and
problems that generally pervades over the comprehensive overview in context to the modifications
which are generally needed for making the entire design of the network that will be helpful in achieving
the benefits of the organization quite successfully. Thus, it is analyzed that the questionnaires which are
generally designed generally aims to give proper description about the different aspects as well as issues
that are linked with the network [5]. It also provides information that needs proper improvement as well
as about the different features which are best for the present network design and how the changes
within the network system will be done for achieving the business needs as well as requirements.
Another significant requirement of the entire design of the network is to reduce the cost that is mainly

associated with the redesigning of the entire network. Therefore, the cost estimation that is generally
done by successfully considering the different types of hardware, software as well as needed network
devices can be identified by gathering requirement from the network.
Verification and Validation
With the help of the questionnaires a proper detailed analysis is generally done in order to

analysis that is generally undertaken helps in reflecting that the constraints like IT staffs generally
encounters properly in order to effectively managing the services. If the various IT based professional

the user and it is documenting it for identification of the technology that can be applied for eliminating
the problems.

For successfully designing the entire network and for giving proper network solution, it is quite
necessary to determine as well as analyze different types of network related issues as well as challenges
that are generally required before the entire plan is generally made. It is found that the plan that is
made for the present network is generally studied in detail for making sure that effective installation of
the new network device as well as connections as per the new design plan [1]. Proper analysis of the

the network related issues as well as challenges. It is analyzed that along with the proper application
related profiles, it also assists in giving appropriate assistance for sharing the VLAN based information
between the various devices that further assists in determining the issues which are generally related
with the networking devices such that the improvement is seen within the entire performance of the
network [5].
Furthermore, in order to make sure that the selected software, hardware as well as network for
the system is mainly off proper quality and proper quality standards are generally followed by those
products. This further assists in making sure that the needed resources of the project are generally
acquired is very much consistent with the various design needed.
The design which is generally considered within the project is generally helpful in improving the
business procedures of the entire hotel.
Justification
It is identified that though communication with the stakeholders related with the stakeholders
are generally done in order to collect proper as well as detailed information regarding the
implementation procedure of the project and if any type of issues re identified then proper steps needs
to be undertaken for mitigating that risk. In addition to this, proper management coverage area will be
mainly created in order to estimate the access point that is mainly needed within the network

redesigning procedure. In addition to this, the entire procedure of estimation of the needed cable length
helps in proper installation of the access point in order to provide proper facility to the network with the
help of proper wireless connection. This further assists in estimating the budget of the project effective
for successful redesigning of the entire network.
