INTRODUCTION
The study of ways in which individuals interact within groups along with the principles
and methods which can be used by businesses to improve employee teamwork and group
efficiency are covered in organizational behavior. Organization behavior is an important area of
study because it helps businesses determine the ways in which employees interact with each
other to perform business functions and support success of the company (e Cunha and et. al.,
2020). The study of organizational behavior in a company can help businesses improve their
efficiency streamline productivity and support creation of an innovative culture to improve
competitiveness. There are different concepts associated with organizational behavior such as
people structure technology and external environment. All these factors play an important role in
shaping the organizational behavior of a company and can be used to direct and influence the
organizational behavior for improving the profitability of the organization. This report looks at
the American movie battleship which was released in the year 2012 to understand the concept of
organizational behavior. The plot and narrative of the movie are examined in this report in order
to understand the concept of organizational behavior clearly and determine the ways in which
individuals in a team environment interact with each other to achieve common goals.
TOPIC 1: Battleship Movie
The plot synopsis of military science fiction action movie battleship is open action
adventure which happens across different seas and skies as military teams fight against alien
forces to protect the planet. The plot revolves around naval warship teams as they have to face
alien forces and retaliate in an evil war two acts against the biggest mankind has ever faced. The
climax of the movie focuses on if the humans will be able to win the war against aliens and save
humanity from extinction (Battleship Movie Synopsis & Plot, 2022). 5 alien spaceships enter the
earth during naval exercise and teams which are available to fight against this alien threat at the
brief crew of the guided missile destroyer USS John Paul Jones and the young commanding
officer Lieutenant Alex hopper.
The concept of organizational behavior is clearly depicted in the movie as the naval team
collaborates with each other in order to fight against the alien spaceships. This also includes
collaboration from background characters such as Admiral Shane's daughter Samantha and army
veteran and amputee Mick canalys. All the characters have to fight against great odds in order to

being against the aliens which includes several external environmental factors suggest ichnology
and Heckle structure in the Navy. the warship available to the team for naval exercise is not
effective enough to fight against highly advanced alien technology and the team has to come up
with creative ideas in order to utilize the technology available to them and fight the aliens. In
addition to this The crew of John Paul Jones also has to collaborate with army veterans and
museum caretakers to utilize the 70 year old decommissioned battleship. This showcases the
ways in which external environment affects organization behavior as individuals in a team have
to collaborate with new members in order to create a functioning team and attain common goals.
External environment is crucial factor in shaping organizational behavior (Jeanes, 2019).
