INTRODUCTION
Organisation behaviour is defined as study which specifies information about individual
attitude towards firm and its effect on their functionality. This concept states efforts put by each
team member through which tasks are completed timely (Aggarwal and Ghauri, 2016). Present
report is based on BBC which is a public firm which are conducting broadcast programmes. As
company have numerous people employed which are diverse in nature. So it is necessary for
human resource manager to posses capabilities through which they are able to keep staff
members connected with firm. Executive require to take care that staff members perform
activities effectively. They should anticipate problems and issues which are hindering
performance of employees. By coordinating human resource; motivating and making them
dedicated towards their duties so that they remain in business for longer period. Henceforth,
organisation goals and objectives are accomplished.
TASK 1
P1 Impact of Culture, politics and power on the behaviour of others in an organisational context.
BBC is a British public broadcaster having its headquarters in Westminister. A number of
employees work under this enterprise who gets influenced by the distinct culture and power
which has its direct impact on the performance of the employees. Due to excessive competition
in the market pressure on management increases to create a workplace that is supported by
flexibility and having employees that do not resist to change. Culture, politics and power within
organisation all three plays essential as well as critical role in governing a company. For
governing a small business, start-ups or a large well renowned group, individual authority power
will might impact positively or negatively on individual, on a group of peoples and also impact
on whole organisation or company (Balwant, 2017). Impact of power may be positive or
negative will directly creates an environment full of politics within organisation which impact on
governing a company or an group of firms. Politics directly influence working culture of
individual employee or on group of employees. Positive impact of power and politics will helps
and provide assistance in encouraging and motivating employees and members of an
organisation. Which adversely affect on productivity of an organisation, economic growth,
customer relationship. Within organisation, if politics should not happen or politics should be

group will be disperse from top authority to ground level employees. Which helps in decision
making as well as implementing the strategies and policies in a better and smoother way into
reality. Rewarding employees, appointing expertises who supervise other employees will create a
positive working culture and ambience which enhance confidence in employees and motivate
them towards their responsibilities and work. When employees have power of taking decision as
well as power of expressing their concerns either regarding company products and services or
regarding politics which happening within organisation by any individual employee or by an
group of employees. Which helps in increasing employee retention rate and which is an good
indication for a company. Communication gap between top and ground level employee or
authority of BBC enterprise plays vital role in functioning of an organisation which direct or
indirect affect on company's economic and social growth. However, top higher authority or team
leader will take advantage of their powers or do not respect their employees who work under
their guidance or team, then it will impact negatively on both organisation economic and social
growth as well as on employees working capabilities and their behaviour. This kind of attitude of
top authority or team leader will encourage more politics within organisation either in formal or
informal way.
Which adversely affect on quality work from employees. Transparency and clarity in
policies and strategies encourage employees of BBC towards their responsibilities and work
which provide assistance in enhancing productivity with quality and also helps in developing
healthy and workable culture within organisation which is fruitful for both organisations and
employees of an company's (Chumg and et. al., 2016). For healthy organisation, communication
gap between top authority and ground level employees must be of negligible amount and strong
decision making power authority must be present. However, it impact positively on governing
within organisation and it helps in creating and developing healthy culture or environment which
encourage and motivate ground level employees which direct or indirect affect company's
economic, sales and social growth. Which enhances company's profit and revenues as well as
helps in maintaining existing customer relationship strongly and creates new customers
relationship. Power, politics and culture all three are inter-related and are fully dependent on
each other. If employee of an organisation will take advantage of any of them, then it will disturb
others also and it impact negatively throughout organisation.

TASK 2
P2 Theory of motivation and motivational technique
Management of BBC needs to ensure that those working there are motivated to a great
extent so that their contribution in the profitability of business can be maximised and hence
growth is assured. The refereed organisation is able to accomplish aims and objectives, if
employees are dedicated towards their work. Financial and non-financial attributes are given to
staff members to increase their morale and make them perform activities in better manner (De
Vries and Van der Poll, 2016). This benefit company to offer goods and services timely and
according to customers demand. There are a number of motivational techniques which can be
adopted by the leaders of BBC to have a fully motivated staff in the work place. Some of the
major concepts that can be utilised to develop motivation are as follows:
Maslow's hierarchy of needs: This concept consists five stages which are stated below:
Physiological needs: Food, water, shelter and so on are essential requirement of people
which they want for their survival. It plays important role in determining their actions through
which they are able to get necessities.
Security and safety needs: Employer should give protection to employees that they will
not be removed from their job. As staff members will perform tasks in better way, if they feel
that they are protected (Dunphy, 2016). Executive require to take care that they provide healthy
working environment to people and also giving them financial aid.

promotion and respect. Manager should provide them rewards so that they are able to keep
confidence of staff members.
Self actualisation needs: This is last stage, which people want to attain when above

informing them about targets, they require to attain, so that they perform activities effectively
(Goh, Ritchie and Wang, 2017).

them. As in case of BBC company, they use three variant type of motivational theory. Staff
members complete duties and accomplish targets on time, if they are having adequate
information and instruction through which they are able to process tasks within specified time
frame.
Superior apply Herzberg's two factor theory to keep employees satisfied by their job and
motivate them to perform activities appropriately. Executives require to give opportunities to

to enhance workers performance so that they complete tasks within deadlines and in better way.
Human resource manger instructs manager that they should use Maslow's theory in organisation
to make staff members satisfied by their job. People perform activities as they want to fulfil their
needs and wants through which they are able to carry forward their life properly. Food, water,
shelter are basic necessities which every human want to incur.
Organisation even applies Expectancy theory so that they superior are able to make employees
perform tasks properly. Staff members will carry activities effectively, when they know that they
will get rewards if they attain targets within specified time. Hence this will advantage firm to
accomplish goals and objectives by making their workers competent.
Human resource manager should evaluate performance of staff members in certain time
period; and also enquire whether goals and objectives are attained timely (Hall and et. al., 2016).
Hence, firm is benefit if workers are motivated are stated below:

activities properly. Superior coordinate efforts of members so that they are able to offer quality
offerings to customers. Employees perform tasks in better way as they learn from experience of
other team mates (Kim, Kim and Reid, 2017). Hence, BBC firm is able to accomplish goals and
objectives by making employees function in team which are as follows:
Functional team: This form of group had gained popularity in recent time. Organisation
formulate departments in which people of same abilities are made to work with each other. In
BBC, manager are positioned for every department so that they give report about their team
functionality.
Problem solving team: This group is not permanent, as superior frame when they find
that employees performance is not proper. So they develop team through which problems and

which are established in different locations.
Company have various forms of teams in which employees of diverse skills and
knowledge are required to contribute efforts through which appropriate outcomes are attained

Forming: This is first phase in which superior frame groups in respect to skills and
knowledge posses by individuals; and thereby giving them duties which they require to
complete.
Storming: In this phase, all members of group interact with each other, so that they get
information about outcome which they are required to attain. As in BBC, each member share
opinion so that they work effectively.
Norming: In this phase team mates are given tasks which they are require to process. By
providing support to people so that they design procedure through which they will be able to
complete tasks.
