About British broadcasting corporation (BBC)
BBC news network is basically a British public service broadcaster and was founded
in the year 1922 by John Reith. This is the world’s oldest national broadcasting organization
with the largest number of employees that is around 20,916. The services provided by the
BBC includes news through television, radio, online streaming, BritBox and other sources.
From the news and journals published on the working of BBC it is clear that BBC is the
reliable source of news. This is the oldest broadcasting media and has seen a lot of changes
throughout this years. According to the survey made it was polled that more than 62%
population of UK believes that BBC delivers accurate and reliable news (Belair-Gagnon,
Valerie 4). Apart from these more than half of the population stated that the news broadcasted
by BBC is unbiased. Moreover the population can trust on the news delivered by BBC and
this are accurate and not biased. However few people has raised question against the sources
provided by the news channel in case of politics. Few thinks that the news channel is political
biased (Hill, John 198). However in response to this accusations the cultural secretary stated
that he will assess the working of the BBC only after clear evidence. Thus, in every services
provided by the BBC it has been treated as the most trustworthy source of news. Even
according to the polls made BBC radio is highly accessed by the people that other
commercial sources.

that it becomes more essential to be careful about the news shared over the media (Riff,
Daniel, Stephen Lacy, and Frederick Fico 2). Thus, it is necessary to verify the news before
judging or making any decision. It is a credible source only when the information available
on these platforms are being crossed checked with prominent news sources. There is always a
chance of getting biased news through electronic media. So before relying on any source or
before judging an individual or a community it is important to verify the information and then
make statements. Everyday more than million people shares varieties of content on social
media. This is the responsibility of journalist to verify the contents and remark that publicly.
So that the whole population over the social network does not get influenced by wrong
information (Lecheler, Sophie, and Sanne Kruikemeier 160). Social media is a huge platform
and involves a lot of people thus it becomes important to spread correct news. If the news
shared on the media gets verified before spreading it will be beneficial for the community and
also for the social media sites.
