organisation operating its activities all over the world. .BBC is one of the renowned organisation
that basically perform an activity of broadcasting information around across the world by
different mediums such as televisions, radio transmitters etc. In this report, a mini-research will
be conducted for which aims and objectives will be formulated and entire research will be based
on the same. Other than this, a project management plan will also be included so that the
researcher can have an idea regarding the activities that are to be performed. Therefore, on the
basis, this valid conclusion will go to be evaluated.
Globalisation is a process through which companies operate their business activities at the

Project aims and objectives
These formulated aims and objectives are described as below:
Research Aim
“To identify the economic, cultural and ethical impact of globalisation on a different
function of an organisation”.
Research Objectives
To analyse the concept of globalisation.
To evaluate the impact of globalisation on different organisational functions of the BBC
To identify the major challenges faced by the BBC at the time of implementing the
concept of globalisation within the business.
The Objectives are:”
Project aims and objectives

Reflect on the value of undertaking the research to meet stated objectives and own learning and
performance.”
Project management plan
A project management plan is considered as the formal document that is helpful for the
researcher to manage the overall project at the time of implementation. It is simply a framework
or blueprint of research which gives entire details to investigators like in what manner they have
to perform activities. Project management plan constitutes various components of research such

research on globalisation, the concept of these components for BBC can be analysed in the
following manner:-
Cost: It is considered as the main part of the project management plan. It defines how
much cost is required to implement a new project within the business. BBC will require around
5k in order to conduct an effective research in order to find out the relevant result. In context
with the BBC, to evaluate the impact of globalisation for different organisational functions,
approximate 22k Euro is required.
Scope: It is the most essential part of the project management plan which reveals the
scope of a particular project for an organisation. For the present project which based on
analysing the impact of globalisation on the BBC's function, this component entails in what
manner the company can gain benefits. By understanding the implication of globalisation, its
managers can make effective strategies and business plan. It will help in improving sales
performance and profitability of business more appropriately.
Time: It is considered a crucial component of Project management plan because it
describes time-period required for completing a project. For this purpose, it also defines duration
required for each activity such as choosing a topic, formulation of aims and objectives,
conducting a literature review and more. Therefore, for the present project, near about 2 months
are required (Kapferer, 2012).
Quality control: This part of the project management plan assists researches to concern
about the quality of the project. Investigating team should monitor the execution process of each
activity of research. It would help in obtaining the desired outcomes of the project in the most
efficient and effective manner. In context with present research, for introducing the concept of
globalisation within the business, managers of BBC should be concerned about existing
technology first. By replacing existing technology with the latest one, helps the company is
moving at the international level. This would give advantages to BBC in reducing the occurrence
of risks which impact on a business project in a negative manner (Turker and Altuntas, 2014).
Communication: In order to complete a project on time and obtain higher outcomes, it is
essential for managers to establish a proper communication system. For this assistance, they

should be given an open environment and maintain a proper flow of transformation of messages
between project-team. This would give an advantage to each member to share views and
thoughts for increasing efficiencies of the project. Along with this, by adopting an appropriate
way of communication such as mobile technology, managers and team members can connect
with each other. Through this process, information can be shared on time and reduce the
occurrence of misconception among team-members also (Lee, Olson and Trimi, 2012).
Risk: Since every new project is associated with several types of risks. Therefore, it is
essential for research-makers of BBC to analyse these risks which may impact on outcomes of
the project in a negative manner. It provides guidelines to members of research to take different
strategies in case of uncertainties. It would help in reducing or minimising the risk of failure,
through which higher outcomes of the project can be obtained.
Resources: This part of Project management plan describes resources which are used for
conducting a project and executing the same in the desired manner. For present research on
globalisation, project makers require an adequate amount of finance, raw materials, technologies
and more. All these types of resources help the investigation team of the BBC to complete each
activity or the project in a more appropriate manner (Hoejmose and Adrien-Kirby, 2012).
Work Breakdown Structure and Gantt chart
Work breakdown structure is a chart in which the overall work of the project is divided
into subsections. Work breakdown structure simply helps an individual in finishing a project
within the provided timeline in an effective manner. In relation to the BBC work breakdown
structure for this company have been defined as below:

Gantt chart: It is a kind of chart that contains some horizontal bars that depicts how
much time will go to be consumed in finishing up each and every task in a systematic manner. It
has been analysed that this chart defines both the starting as well as finishing date of every
activity (Lasserre, 2017). In context to the research of BBC, its Gantt chart of all 8 activities have
been presented below:

Activity 2
Research Methodology
Qualitative research focuses on collecting data by using interviews, focus groups, etc.
The data is non-numerical but its purpose is to find different themes based on people’s
experiences and perceptions of a certain topic. This methodology also helps the investigator in
understanding the actual problem which is faced by a company or another related person (Types
of Research: Primary vs Secondary, 2019). For this kind of research, the researcher often adopts
various methods like group discussions, personal interviews, observations in order to meet the
requirement of the project and satisfy research aims and objectives.
Quantitative research: A quantitative research method is one that deals with numeric
data, logical reasoning and so on. Quantitative data always focus on numeric constraints. This
form of data is usually collected with the use of structured research instruments. Results of this
research are based on larger sample sizes that are collected from the overall population
(Stromquist and Monkman, 2014).
Primary research methods include first-hand data from respondents and it can take
many forms such as interview, focus group, dairy, etc. It can be said that the primary method of
data collection helps research in finding out authentic details from respondents which contributes
to obtaining a true outcome.
Secondary research methods include sources which have analysed the primary data.
Secondary sources of data collection involve books, journals, newspapers, articles etc. This kind
of data collection helps the researcher in completing their research in less period of time with
probable relevant data.

As per the above-mentioned methodologies and tools, it has been analysed that
Qualitative research is a best suitable tool for the researcher as it provides research outcome on
the perception of respondents. This tool will help to conduct an effective research for the BBC
with the best possible outcome. Additionally, primary as well as secondary sources of data
collection have also been used by the researcher in order to complete this research with
authenticity and provided a time frame.
For this study, both qualitative and quantitative methods have been used to have a better
understanding of the positive aspects of globalisation. For quantitative research, a questionnaire,
having 7 questions (See Appendix 1) has been prepared then administered to 10 participants. For
qualitative research, 2 managers working for BBC have been asked two questions. The questions
and some of their answers will be given below.
