INTRODUCTION
Every organisation wants the positive behaviour of employees so that the work efficiency can
be improved. Organisational behaviour also impacts the productivity and profitability of the
company so the organisation culture should be flexible and every employee should be
motivated within the company. The mass media industry has become the most important part
of all types of organisation over the world. BBC is one of the oldest broadcasting organisations
in the mass media industry in the UK and it serves its services worldwide (Gordon, 2018). In this
assignment, Organisational culture, power and politics are influencing the individual and team’s
behaviour will be discussed. The evaluation of content and process theory of motivation will be
done and motivational techniques will be discussed in order to achieve the organisational goals.
The relevant team and group development with the help of different theories will be discussed.
In addition, concepts and philosophies of Organizational behaviour will be justified in order to
evaluate the positive and negative behaviour of the employees and how it is influencing the
team members' behaviour at the workplace will also be discussed with the help of development
theories. The justification and recommendation have also been provided for organisational
success.

BBC is very focused on constant changes in the organisation. As it has found that the
Organisation’s structure of BBC has changed from the previous one. BBC is one of the oldest
broadcast companies which have shown the rapid growth in the UK. Britain Broadcast
Corporation has around 35,402 employees working with it and serving to the nation. In
addition, BBC broadcasts in 28 languages on TV, radio and online services (King and Lawley,
2016). The main cultures that are affecting the behaviour of the individual and team members
described below-
1. Power Culture – There are very few people in the organisation who have the authority to
take certain decisions in the organization and they have the power to influence the
behaviour of individual and team members. They are designated with a higher position in
the organisation and enjoy the positional power as well. They have to power to delegate
the work to the subordinates or employees working in the organization and they are bound
to hear and follow the same whatever the higher authority says.
2. Task Culture- In this culture employees and participants of the organization are divided
with a different task in order to accomplish the work in an effective manner. The task
culture is based on the team and team performance matters in this culture. The team
should be able to solve the critical problems also which are arising at the workplace. BBC is
quite focused on the task culture and provides the benefits in case of successful work done
by them.
3. Person Culture- In this culture, individuals are quite concerned with their task and they
focus on the individual profit only. BBC allows the individuals to take personal benefits by
giving a certain task that is needed to be completed individually (Lăzăroiu, 2015).
4. Role Culture- this culture is based on specialization, qualification and expertise people
in order to delegate the task as per their area of interest. This culture allows the individuals
to select the task from their own interest and that help the organization to get efficient
employees with the expertise qualities and skills in a particular segment. Role culture will

Without motivation, no employee can work and no company can grow. In order to increase the
productivity and better performance of the organization motivated employees are required.
The motivated employees are the one who drives with enthusiasm in order to finish the given
project with success. There are motivational theories that can help the organisation to motivate
the employees in order to work with zeal (Lane et al., 2016).
Content theories
Content theories basically consider the modified earliest theory in order to improve
