Sports are all form of physical activity that contributes to physical fitness, mental well-being
and social interaction (D'Elia, 2019). Primary education is the platform where children first get
introduced to sports and exercise. It is therefore very important to include sports and physical
activities into routines of primary level students in a right manner. Integrating sports at primary
education can instil in children a lifelong interest and love for sports and exercise.

Involvement in regular physical activity in the form of sports can help students to develop a
correct posture, to prevent formation of excess fat deposits and thus stay fit and healthy. They
can also maintain better balance by improving hand-eye and foot-eye co-ordination.
Enhanced Leadership Skills- Playing sports enhances the leadership skills and qualities.
This helps them in knowing how to lead a team in the school days can magnify leadership
