Introduction
In today’s busy world everyone seeks convenience in everything whether it is lifestyle or
food habits. In the metropolitan cities, the supermarkets and the grocery stores have taken upon
the farmers market. Due to the easy availability of products and canned foods, students are
attracted towards the supermarkets for buying the daily nutrition (Tang, Sodhi & Formentini,
2016). For this reason, somewhere the farm products are losing their identity. The objective of
the paper is to provide recommendations for the students regarding the benefits of farm products
and encourage them to buy their products from the farmers market.
Recommendations of buying products from the farmers markets
Students opt for supermarkets for the purchase because of more varieties of food and
specifically canned food which lasts for many days. Students find it more convenience buying
the products from the grocery store, supermarket or online. They do not k now the benefits of
buying the products directly from the farmers. There are few recommendations that explains the
importance of purchasing the products from the farmers market:
Reasonable price: Students often are distracted by the different types of products sold in
the supermarkets and spend huge amount of money for the purchase. But the prices at the
farmers market are very low, free of additional charged or taxes as compared to the
supermarkets. By purchasing the products directly from the farmers, the students can save
money. The grocery stores charge more money from the organic products but buying it
directly from the farmer market is less expensive and beneficial for health too (Benjamin
& Virkler, 2016).

at cool temperature, this makes the product lose their nutritious value. But the farm
products are freshly available and plucked on daily basis. The students are aware about
where the food is coming from and how it is grown. So, there is no doubt about
consuming the farm products.
Provide support to the local farmers: The students should participate in the initiative of
buying the products from the farmers because this will economically provide support to
them in earning their daily bread because due to the grown of supermarkets, farmers’ are
facing rigid competition (Besik & Nagurney, 2017).
Say no to plastic: When someone buy products from the supermarket or any grocery,
their products are wrapped in the plastic bags. Purchasing the products from the farmers
will help in contributing towards eco-friendly environment and will contribute towards
the less use of carbon print. When the students will buy the products from the farmers,
they will have to use the basket for carrying the vegetables or fruits. But when they buy
products from the grocery they are wrapped in the plastic will is later dumped in the
