Best practices are the intrinsic part of a curriculum which represents the relevance and
connection presented in the field of educational research. They include problem-solving and
development skills by active learning strategies and integration techniques. The concepts of
best practices are applicable for all levels of the grade for providing the building blocks for
instruction (Nilson, 2016). One of the notable benefits of the best practices in the field of
teaching is that it motivates, encourages and engages students to build, learn and achieve.
This paper highlights some of the best practices of teaching by the instructors for the
development and promotion of an effective and productive learning environment for the
learners.
Discussion
Some of the notable best practices of teaching include a balanced curriculum,
differentiating instructions, provision of active learning opportunities, effective
communication practices and more. The practice of effective teaching enables the students to
develop a love for gaining and learning new knowledge and skills, improve their attitude
towards the matter of the subject, being eager and passionate about the subject being taught.
According to researchers, effective teaching is much more than an intuitive procedure (The
Guardian, 2017). This is because the concept of effective and good practices in teaching takes
rigorous time and effort by the instructor to act on those decisions and actions. In the context
of this topic, some of the best practices in the context of teaching ELLS or English language
learners and the students of the general classes are the following.
Establishing a positive and effective environment for the reading, learning and writing the
English language- It is extremely essential for the instructors and the teachers to create a safe

and a positive environment, an atmosphere of positive regard, respect and safety for all. The
learners should experience the feeling that they are an essential part of a community where
they can support each other for developing their writing skills in the English language (Chen,
2015). The English literacy is celebrated and valued just as the efforts of the learners for
developing as the member of the literature community. The teachers and the instructors must
take some essential steps for establishing a sage atmosphere and the sense of community.
These steps include an inviting classroom, respect among the learners, daily routines, and
structures
Organization for writing- it refers to the strategies and planning as well as the
activities in the classroom that help the learners develops their reading and writing skills for
different languages (Conner & Sliwka, 2014). In this context, often the instructors need to
address assessments and standards keeping the need and the goals of the curriculum in mind.

information, divide tasks and share the procedure of learning and the content. The notion of

of integrated curriculum empowers the learners to take up the ownership of the learning
procedure. Besides, it supports the content and the ideas to engage the learners in active
learning skills (Borich, 2016). This practice is one of the best practices since it encourages
the learners to work collaboratively with their fellow learners’ for developing multilevel
activities and challenges.

explore their inner qualities and skills. Problem-solving, co-operative learning, and project-
based active learning strategies are some of the factors of this practices.
