delivering quality services and products to service users. In respect to perform different types of
task there are different sets of skills and knowledge required by the workers(Reeves, Perrier and
Zwarenstein, 2013). Similar, to this education system professional are responsible in order to
find out the area where improvement can be made which help students in working within it with
full efficiency. The present research is based on Bexley college which aims is to delivery
effective learning materials that can support students. This report will cover, concept of
professionalism and dual professionalism in education and training. Along with this, the roles of
stakeholders and external bodies in education and training will be explained. Apart from this, the
quality improvement and quality assurance arrangements of own organization will be analyzed.
Task 1
a. Define the concept of professionalism and dual professionalism in education and training.
Professionalism is related to the conduct, characteristics, and qualities which an
individual possesses for reflecting the professional nature. Further, it has some own meaning
whose adoption lead to help in making an individual highly effective in performance.
Professionalism is known as essential quality which can be involved in education as well as
training. These are, appearance where professionals should groom nicely and well dressed
(Roeser, Skinner and Jennings, 2012). It is important to ensure that quality services is deliver by
my to the students. Further some qualities which are required known as the good verbal and non-
verbal interactions with others. On the other side dual professionalism within the education and
training is known as the individuals who are both, vocalist, experts and specialist in a particular
subject. Further they are committed toward the maintain a specific amount of expertise in
different departments and make sure best learning outcomes (Lye and Koh, 2014).
b. Explain ways in which own professional values influences own practice in an area of
specialism.
I am working as a professor at Bexley college where I need to maintain a professionalism
at the time of dealing with students. For an individual who is involved in education and training,
professionalism is known as essential factor. Further, to fulfil all the requirements of being
professional, I am required follow all the policies and procedures which are implemented within

the college (Hoyle, 2012). I required to share all the knowledge and learning so that learners can
gain some amount of information from me. Apart from this I am also focused on making
improvement in my skills so that I can deliver quality services on time. In order to make
improvement in my skills, I used to set a target that can be accomplished in a specific duration. It
assists me in improving my teaching standards and continuously increase my knowledge base.
Professors are usually not involved in their own development but they want development of
students also. I tried to make sure that efforts put by me in improving my skills help in providing
better teaching facilities to students (Boud and Hager, 2012)..
Task 2
a. Explaining ways in which social, political and economic factors influence education policy
From the study of author, it is identified that there are different factors which can directly
influence the educational policy and educational system of a nation. In order to prevent negative
social, political and economic impact an efficient education policy can be developed (Lester and
Costley, 2010). There are many countries such as U.K., U.S etc which are well-known for
providing high quality education. For instance, UK education policy focused on promoting
diversity and equality within the education system. Along with this self study and practical
oriented learning approach lead to help the learners in developing and improving their
professional skills and mould assist to complete in an effective manner in the global market.
While working an assistant and health care assistant it is important for me to motivate students in
health and care in order to develop their transferable skills, personal skills and practical skills.
through this quality services can be received by patients. Transferable skills are known as
general skills which are important for a person to be flexible and adaptable in any working
environment (Boud and Hager, 2012). Hence, as teaching and health care professional its my
roles and accountability to develop the transferable skills of the health care learner. It leads to
improve the communication between service users and providers. On the other side, to improve
practical skills and to increase knowledge of learner in science and technology. Apart from this, I
detected that there are many learners who are not able to identify their own weak and strong
skills due to which they remain unemployed. Therefore, while working as a teaching assistant it
is important for me to develop skills and knowledge of learners in order to deliver quality
services to service users.

b. Impact of current educational policies on curriculum and practice in own area of specialism.
The UK government has introduced a market mechanism for their education system. It is
considered as important approach which is implemented by government in order to make
improvement in the quality and standard of UK education (Fukkink, Trienekens and Kramer,
2011). As per the, Education Reform act of 1988 it shows the national curriculum and education
policy. Therefore, in order to make solved problems related to the numeracy and poor literacy
the UK government has introduced new policies, numeracy strategy, the standardised national
curriculum. Further, the national curriculum was developed for learners who are between the age
of 7 to 16 with the goal of increasing the education standards through delivering a set of subjects.
Along with this government has also conducted national test that help in analysing the
understanding of learner’s related to the national curriculum. Moreover, the curriculum should
focus on developing the work place skills, core skills, and communication skills of students in
health and social care industry (Archer, 2010). Appropriate learning material should be provided
in order to improve knowledge of the learner in particular area. According to the national
curriculum, all the learners whether they are disable or not and graduated form different
intuitions are effective enough for receiving equal acceptance. Hence, being as a health care
assistance it is my accountability to develop and implement a set of activities to improve the
learning outcomes and to provide a practice environment which can increase the quality learning
(Saunders, 2012).
Task 3
a. Explaining the roles of stakeholders and external bodies in education and training.
Stakeholders are individuals or a group who can easily influence the success of the firm
and their organisational objectives. Stakeholders lead to play significant role in respect to right
comments and proposals to improve educational programmes (Thistlethwaite, 2012). Different
stakeholders such as parents, curriculum, employers, parents play important role in education
and training. Employer role is to work together with education providers and to deliver quality
resource which are important for increasing learning experience. On the other side, learners can
be involved in decision making process and involved in the analysis of course at educational
institute. Further, role of curriculum manager is to organise different institutional activities.
Along with this they also need to support team for improving the learning. Parents also play
important role in education and training as they required to motivate and assist learners in order
06
Document Page
to carry out their learning activities (Frank, Snell and Harden, 2010). Moreover, it is observed
that parental engagement helps in improving the social and behavioural skills of students. For
teaching assistant, it is not easy to carry out teaching activities, as there are many issues which
have to be faced in health and social care. It is because most of the students are required special
care to develop understanding related to curriculum. It is a teacher responsibility to measure the
identify learner’s ability the curriculum and record their performance. As a teaching assistant my
role is to design and make modification in making improvement in practical knowledge of the
health care learners.
b. The way being accountable to stakeholders and external bodies impacts on organisation in
education and training
The UK government make improvement in the education policies and modification
implemented which has made accountable to the stakeholders and external bodies to develop
central control and regulation of assessment system. In order to implement a learner-centred
curriculum firstly approval is required from the stakeholders and external bodies by the
educational institutes (Sutherland, Howard and Markauskaite, 2010). Therefore, it is
accountability of the teacher to gain prior consent from the curriculum managers at the time of
developing a teaching plan and learner materials. It is because manager can help in organising,
managing, implementing the curriculum system in an effective manner within the educational
institutes. The administrator and curriculum manager required to be concerned on the kind of
curriculum which must be implemented within the institution. Parents as a stakeholder can
strongly influence the curriculum, therefore support of them is important in institution for
designing it in effective manner (Archer, 2010). According to the author, a teacher required to
develop the curriculum based on the learner’s abilities, expertise and in regarding the
institutional context. At time of working as a teaching assistant it is important to be careful in
preparing curriculum and should be ensure that all the meets of learners can be increases both
professional and practical in health and social care. Furthermore, availability of the resources
also leads to impact the curriculum success. I had also faced lots of issues due to lack of
availability of resources such as learning material, books etc. Professional organisation leads to
play important role while increasing improvements in the institution (Fukkink, Trienekens and
Kramer, 2011).

c. Importance of working in partnership with employers and other stakeholders in education and
training
To work in partnership, play significant role for both employers and other stakeholder
while providing education and training. To providing teaching to learner who suffer from
learning disabilities, it is crucial to posses’ wide range of skills and competencies which can
easily meet the needs of educational requirements (Lester and Costley, 2010). Along with this,
specific criteria and specification is set in organisational policies which help in focusing on the
requirement of development. By the government standards and health polices are modified and
organisation were forces to implement training and development progress so that changes can be
adopted in an effective manner. Further, in respect to assist and encourage the workforce Maslow
motivational theory can be adopted by the educational institutes. According to the Maslow
theory there are five stages which need to be fullfed step by step for keeping motivation among
learners. Hence, it can be stated that through applying this model in health and social care sector
it will become easy to conditional that workforce which cannot growth to higher areas of
functions if basic needs are not met on time (Boud and Hager, 2012). For example. Through
fulfilling the second level need is essential in health care because pressure and workload is
intrinsic in this environment. Through mitigating this component, it will become easy to reduce
the risk and provide high quality services to services users.
d. Analysing the impact of being accountable to stakeholders and external bodies on curriculum
design
To analyses the impact of being accountable to stakeholder’s bodies on curriculum design
it is important to use stakeholder analysis technique. In this people are mapped in four quadrants
on the basis of degree of influence. Further, it can be said that students, educational reformers,
organizational policies are lied in first quadrant which reflects higher influence on the
curriculum. While in the second quadrant parents, supervisors, team members are lied because
they exert lower influence and essential. In third one, college, authority and PTA are positioned
and in last that is fourth resources providers, funding agencies are mapped which are need to be
satisfied based on their positioned (Roeser, Skinner and Jennings, 2012).

(Source: Freeman et al. 2010)
According to the view of author it is important to consider the views and opining of
different stakeholders on the basis of their power and positioned. Further, while working on the
position of teaching assistance, I required to take guidance from my senior staff in order to
design curriculum. The main aim of the Bexley is to raise potential of each students through
delivering comprehensive and complete education. Further basic concept of the curriculum is
that I need to maintain the professional’s criteria and focus on students needs so that their
knowledge and skills can be developed. Further, it is also important to take consideration of the
parents and PTA so that learners need can be identified and improved (Whitton and et.al, 2016).
Task 4
a. Explaining key aspects of policies, codes of practice and guidelines of an organisation
Bexley college is emphasize on offering lifelong learning capabilities to increase the
employability of an individual through becoming responsible, socially, culturally and
economically. In order to accomplish this, the cited college has set a different set of regulatory

frameworks which assist in endorsing diversity and equality within the college successfully
(Deans, Page and Tayler, 2016).. According to the view of author, it is basic to think about
statutory directions and rules while framing the set of accepted rules for a school and the
deliberate and automatic consistence with this is important to anticipate punishments and to keep
up concordance of instructive condition. According to the authoritative administrative system, a
classroom ought to be without every one of the potential outcomes of separations as age, gender
discrimination, ethnicity, shading learning incapacities and so on.
b. Analysing the impact of organisational requirements and expectation on curriculum practice in
own area of specialism.
Within the educational firm, curriculum practices are important for the mental health
practices. Regarding this, it is important to have appropriate amount of knowledge and
understanding. It will help in carrying out all the activities to be performed in an appropriate
manner. Different students possess different types of skills and knowledge and it is important to
trained them accordingly (Dunleavy and Dede, 2014). There are many students who suffer from
different types of learning disabilities such as attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder etc.
furthermore, response which is received from their reaction is also varied from one to another, it
is important to response their reactions based on there condition. For instance, if learner is
suffering from dyslexia then it will face difficulty while transcribe lectures in an effective
manner. Therefore, it is essential for teacher to comprehend the condition and support these
students in efficient manner. Along with this, there is also a model that is Brooke Brook field
four lenses model which is effective in order to cover all the important aspect which assist in
improving and supporting learning for disable learners.

Task 5
a. Analysing the quality improvement and quality assurance arrangements of own organisation
Bexley college role is to provide key to provide educational supports to students for
enhancing their learning. There are less number of students who are receiving educational
support in colleges. It become important to provide support and effective based learning so that
their skills and knowledge can be developed (Simonson, Smaldino and Zvacek, 2014). Apart
from this, the rate of unemployment and it lead to deliver Curriculum Authority’s and 12
qualifications. The kind of quality which is delivers to students is high because of low number of
learners. Apart from this, to measure the quality assurance and improvement is known as the
systematic co-ordinated activities which take place within the firm and periodic analysis and
important lead to increase when particular scheme is improved. However, Bexley college have
earned the key strength in the quality strength and enhanced level 2 success in providing learning
capability to learners. Bexley was success in order to implement strategic approaches. While
working as a professor I used to monitor the all the changes in order to make sure that quality
education is provided to learners. I used to monitor and guide diverse students through giving
them special attention and care. The quality assurance agency reviewed and analysed that Bexely
college have bee providing appropriate academic standard and high-quality learning. The

reviewer said that they provide quality services which is consistent and complete support at high
level to students (Reeves, Perrier and Zwarenstein, 2013). At last quality assurance agency also
recommended to Bexley college to formulate strategy in order to make improvement in their
learning opportunity for higher education people.
b. Explaining the function of self assessment and self evaluation and the quality cycle
In order to make improvement in quality process it is important to pre-planned and
organised systematic sequence activities in relation the quality cycle. There are four steps which
are included in quality cycle that is plan, do, check and act. In the learning process the learner
gather and interpret the work. In this professor lead to asses the status of each students where is
require to make improvement in learning and the way of accomplishing it. My role is to measure
each student learning capability (Dunleavy and Dede, 2014). Further, it need to perform
assessment process which help in analysing and interpreting the current status and provide
learning activity accordingly. Further, students who lack the ability to manage with teammates
required to find out time where they can easily motivate toward the work. Further, I required to
provide support to students whole availing peer help in their learning which help in facilitating
team building in between students.
c. Evaluating a learning program taking account of the quality maintenance
Organisational policy of Bexley college functions is to maintain, develop, understand and
make comparison with the educations standard which lead to assist students in their learning and
their curriculum. There are different organisational strategies which are formulated by the
college for specify and understand the different standard of teaching and learning. To work on
professor post I need to make sure that all students are getting all the facilities while learning.
This can be done through taking appropriate feedback from students and make improvement
accordingly. Further, I can use Kirkpatrick training evaluation model. The model facilitates me
in providing appropriate teaching facility to students (Lye and Koh, 2014). In Kirkpatrick’s
model there are different levels that are known as reaction, learning, behaviour and results.
