 Issue and the ways it relates to the key theme- The external environment of the
hospitality industry refers to the PESTLE (Political, Economic, Social,
Technological, Legal and Environment) analysis of the hospitality industry. The
external environment of the business refers to the outside factors that influence
the development, potential and impact on the operation of business. Cyber
security has become an important political topic, a number of market
manipulation scandals have shook the cyber security industry and the economic
meltdown has led to the proliferation in the internal security threats (Harel, Gal &
Elovici, 2017). The issue of IT security has become pertinent due to the
distribution of cloud-based services and effective law is being put into place for
regulations of financial crisis.
 Overview of the issue, explanation, background and current situation- The
world is heavily dependent on the internet for spreading, disseminating and
seeking information. The cyber security based on technology face threat of data
manipulation, cyber warfare and identity theft. The industry also faces tangential
issues that pertains to data security, digital trails and the leveraging of technology
talent. The industry is faced with certain key challenges that can be overcome
through awareness and education, collaboration with the aim of mitigating threats,
and the balance between security and privacy (Gordon, Loeb, Lucyshyn & Zhou,
2015). One of the major threats that plague the cybersecurity industry is
cybercrime. The cybercrimes range from the attacks on the website to the denial

and government bodies. Since the scope of attacks are vast the current position of
