1. The stakeholders are referred to those groups of people who hold any kind of stakes r
interest in the workings of a business. However, this is a generalised definition and used in a
broader sense to denote all the direct as well as the indirect stakeholders. The types of
stakeholders can be categorised according to their relation with the business and the extent of
influence reciprocated :
a. Stakeholders- the direct stakeholders who holds stake in the firm and have direct influence on
the business as well as responsibilities on the same are termed as the stakeholders. They are
similarly influenced by the organisational policies.
b. Stake Watchers- the indirect stakeholders who have indirect source of legitimacy upon the
firm but can hold power over the organisation’s decision are called the stake watchers. The stake
watchers, however, has minimum responsibilities over the firms and are the pressure groups.
c. Stake keepers- this group of stake holders re far removed from the other two groups as they
are the independent regulators. They are not related with the organisation, but, however, can
impose regulations and constraints upon the organisational activities.
Response to Q2:
The direct stakeholders of BHP include the employers, the management and the
employees of the firm. The company’s Forum on Corporate responsibility and the business
partners also falls in this group. This group is affected by the sustainability of the organisation
since they are the key decision makers and are the primary group who are affected by the

decisions. The stake watchers of the company are the labour unions and the community based
organisations who do not have any stakes but they are related since their interests lies with the
decisions. The stake keepers are the government, NGO, media etc.
Response to Q3:
The triple bottom line is achieved by the company of BHP since it has measures for
attaining the stability and balance between the social, economic and the environmental factors.
the company has aimed at achieving the economic sustainability by sticking to the CSR and
enhancing their brand image. The environmental sustainability is achieved by the means of the
usage of the eco friendly product and the minimum exploitation of natural resources. the social
sustainability is achieved by the company through their different programs on education and
learning development programs.
Response to Q4:
The attaining of the UNSDG goals has been made possible by the company since it hs
aimed at an overall learning and development programs for the workers. The mission of reducing
poverty has been aimed at by offering monetary supports and compensation. The attainment of
sustainable development has also been focused upon through their environment consciousness.
Response to Q5:
The GRI report that the company has presented lacks sufficient information of their
economic factors.
