The big bang theory has various atheist undertones as it contains multiple secular compromises
and attributes the role of god in creation as told in the bible to strict scientific phenomenons.
INTRODUCTION
One of the major reasons why Christian institutions do not see eye to eye with scientific
research bodies is because many historical events and miraculous deeds that the former attributes
to god are targeted by science as its aims to find logic and reasoning behind faith (On the
Intersection of Science and Religion, 2022). This report will conduct research on the big bang
theory which is a major concept endorsed by the scientific community about the creation of the
universe and compare the differences with the biblical explanation endorsed by Christianity. This
report is important as knowing the sensitive boundaries that exist between fact and fiction and
knowing not to take either religion or science at 100% face value is important to develop an
educated opinion regarding complex topics.
MAIN BODY
According to the big bang theory which is one of the most widely accepted scientific
explanations for the creation of our universe as we know it, it all began from a point of
singularity. This infinite hot and dense point which was the only thing existing in the void of
space back then, got stretched and expanded at the speed faster than light by an explosion which
resulted in the universe being created. This directly contrasts with the way creation of universe
and life is dictated in the Bible as the holy book states that humans, earth and the universe itself
were created by God in his own image and design about 6000 years ago and he did not need any
matter or energy to do so as he used his divine powers instead. The big bang theory
fundamentally contradicts Bible at a conceptual level as the book also states that there is no
science or chance involved in the creation of universe as only God was present at the beginning

Another reasoning which has been a major factor behind Christian institutions rejecting
the big bang theory and has caused a major divide between science and religion is that the entire
existence of this theory discredits the biblical depiction of God. As a concept, the big bang
theory is a secular explanation of things related to divinity in the Bible as it provides a
reasonable explanation behind the creation of universe with no role of God behind it. The scope
and logic of the way creation has been described in Bible is a far outcry from the way Science
aims to explain it as the former states that it was made by the divine creator in 6 days while the
theory states that universe has been expanding and evolving over billions of years. The big bang
theory also dilutes the beauty described in the Bible involved in the process of creation as it
states that earth was created as a molten blob which cooled off over time as opposed to Bible
explaining it as a paradise and marvel of God's engineering upon its creation (Creation, 2022).
A major divide between Christian institutions and Scientific bodies is that Science
through the big bang theory has tried to give meaning and rationale behind God which is
incomprehensible for followers of the Christian faith. The bible depicts God as a being with no
definite shape, form or structure while the theory states that the big bang was caused by the
Higgs Boson also labelled as “god particle” which is very controversial. Despite being endorsed
by scientists globally, the big bang theory is also full of fallacies as the beginning and creation of
universe cannot be measured in any capacity and the theory is based on continuous hypothesis

also also multiple scientific errors in the theory which is why the debate between Science and
Religion on the topic of creation still rages on today.
CONCLUSION
The above research report went into detail regarding the complicated and sensitive nature
of the way in which both science and religion interpret the creation of universe and life itself.
The nature and explanation of big bang theory was duly stated along with the multiple
contradictions observed between it and the way creation is described in the Bible. Multiple
differences were highlighted such as the time period taken for creation of universe, the scope and
size of god along with his role being attributed to scientific principles and atheist thought

processes. It was concluded that Science and religion might never see eye on eye on the debate
surrounding creation.
