Big Data Analysis 1
As per my opinion, large set of data analysed by organizations with the help of smart computers
to reveal patterns and trends are known as big data analysis. Big data analysis is majorly used by
e-commerce companies in order to reveal the information regarding their target audience. Big
data strategy helps the companies to gain competitive advantage. I have learnt that there are
various functions which could easily be performed by big data analysis such as targeting
customers, optimising business processes, etc. (Trnka, 2014).
I have also learnt that there are numerous advantages of using big data analysis in business
corporations such as it helps the corporations to save cost and time and generates new and
creative ideas for new product development. This has helped the organizations to enhance their
performance along with gaining competitive advantage. I have observed that companies who rely
upon big data analysis have attained effective position in the market in comparison with the
companies who does not uses big data analysis due to its disadvantages. While analysing the
impact of big data analysis, I have analysed that there are several disadvantages also such as
inconsistency in data collection, security issues, etc. Apart from this, I have learnt that it is bit
complex process in comparison to the other processes. I have also learnt that the figures attained
from big data analysis are not real and organizations could not rely upon these figures. In the
previous assessments, impact of big data analysis on Google LLC has been evaluated (Chen,
Mao, Zhang & Leung, 2014). Apart from this, it has been reviewed that many small and large
companies use this technology to gain adequate information about the consumer’s demand,
wants and their desires so that the appropriate techniques could be adopted in relation with
fulfilment of target audience’s needs.
In this course, I have learnt that big data analysis is a large concept and it is described by using
3V model and it is defined as volume, high velocity and variety of information which is also
known as assets. In order to collect the data, various advanced and effective technologies are
being used by the companies. With the increased number of internet users, scope for big data
analysis is also increasing. I have learnt that there are numerous sources through which data is
being collected. This makes the data more enhanced and complex as it is being collected from
vast sources. After obtaining data, it is segregated into subparts so that the optimum utilisation
could be made by the companies. As per the previous assessments, I have realised that after
collection of data from various sources, companies customise it as per their requirements. There

are billions of people who use internet and shop online across the globe and all these activities
leads to generate huge data. In order to utilise the data in an effective manner, organizations are
required to generate new and innovative ideas so that the optimum utilisation could be made
along with gaining positive outcomes with the motive of gaining competitive advantage in the
market (Domingue, Lasierra, Fensel, van Kasteren, Strohbach & Thalhammer, 2016).
For example: when a customer visits any online shopping website such as Amazon.com and
surfs various items and but did not purchased and start surfing other social media sites. With the
help of big data analysis, Amazon will display all those items on which customer have shown
interest and spends sometime to gain information on each and every social media site, customer
is surfing. Along with this, Amazon also displays several offers and deals over particular
products in order to attract the customers. This shows that e-commerce websites could easily
enhance their customer base, revenues and profitability with the help of big data analysis (Bruns,
2016).
Research made in previous assessments determines that Google LLC is one of the experts in
handling big data in an effective manner. Approximately, 3.5 billion requests are being handled
by company each day and every request contains approximately 20 billion webpages. Google has
appropriate tools and techniques through which collected data could be designed in the manner
through which appropriate results could be obtained. It uses complex algorithms which are
designed to match the query which is entered by the users with all the data available and further
users are targeted by showcasing them the results of their queries over different internet
platforms used by them. Google also use inbuilt algorithms which are based on big data analysis
to perform complex operations such as translation of language (Fan, Han & Liu, 2014)
According to the research conducted in previous two assessment in relevance with big data, it
has been found that along with Google, lot of companies use this technology with the objective
of gaining positive outcomes due to its advantages whereas, still there are lot of companies who
do not use big data analysis because it has several limitations such as it makes information bit
complex. Big data analysis is one of the trending marketing strategies because it gives the
organization most appropriate and useful outcomes. Major advantage of using big data analysis
for corporations is that they can always create distinct image amongst its competitors and

customer satisfaction could also be gained with the help of big data analysis (Sandryhaila &
Moura, 2014).
Previous two assessments are being made to analyse the significance of big data analysis and in
terms of manufacturing and retailing companies, big data analysis provides real time analytics in
relation with the demand of their products and services. This could help the organizations to
boost up their sales by increasing the production volume of most demanded products. Apart from
the customer analysis, big data analysis also helps the organizations to gain appropriate
information in relation with their competitors, their products and services, etc. (Chen & Zhang,
2014).
The research made on the usage of big data analysis has helped the organizations to gain positive
outcomes. This will also help the organization to gain positive outcomes in the near future.
Since, big data analysis is an expensive platform but the results acquired from this analysis are
also effective through which the desired goals and objectives could be attained easily. As per my
opinion, business enterprises are required to adopt appropriate business structure so that the big
data analysis could be used in an optimum manner (Singh & Reddy, 2015).
