AI Summary
This project, submitted as part of the ITC571 course on Emerging Technology and Innovations, addresses the critical issue of securing Big Data through the implementation of Blockchain technology. The project begins by outlining the problem domain, emphasizing the increasing security concerns associated with the continuous exchange of sensitive data derived from numerous independent sources. It then provides background information, focusing on the importance of data security in enterprises and the need for advanced security measures compared to traditional methods. The project's aim is to discuss various security measures aligned with Blockchain to protect data in computational systems. The project's deliverables include discussing security issues, defining authentication requirements, and proposing Blockchain solutions. The author uses journals and qualitative/quantitative data for the project, referencing key sources such as Abdullah, Hakansson & Moradian (2017) and Karafiloski & Mishev (2017). The project explores how Blockchain can enhance Big Data security in a distributed environment and provides a detailed abstract of the project.

Project Title
Big Data and Blockchain Technology
Abstract
Project Problem Domain: The aspect of security is one primary concern due to the
continuous and increasing form of exchange of sensitive data. There are a large form of
unstructured and complex data, which is derived from multitude independent sources. Since the
use of big data makes use of large data sets, hence, hacking of the computerized systems would
lead to gaining information (Abdullah, Hakansson & Moradian, 2017). The development of
authentication policies in order to secure the use of Blockchain technology and process
information gained from Big Data is the broad concern.
Background: The concerned project would discuss the use of data by enterprises for
processing them and generate valuable results. Though people require the benefits generated
from processing of Big Data information, the security of the information is considered as an
important issue. There are wide concerns, which have focused on protection and security of
sensitive information. In order to secure the information, adoption of new kind of security
measures would be considered as highly helpful as compared to traditional measures of security
(Karafiloski & Mishev, 2017). In this paper, the impact of Blockchain technology would need to
be implemented for securing the end systems based on various security policies.
Project Aim: The project aims to discuss the various security measures aligned with
blockchain technology in order to secure the data collected and stored in computational systems.

Deliverables or Outcomes: From the discussion supported in the paper, the certain
deliverables or outcomes are:
1. Discussion on the different security issues of data gathered from Big Data analysis
2. Defining requirements of authentication based on Big Data
3. Defining blockchain solutions based on overcoming challenges of Big Data.
Resources: The information for the project have been collected from different journals,
which are further based on the works of various others. Both qualitative and quantitative data
have been reviewed from the journals. The authors have collected data from various interviews
while others have provided information based on the gathered knowledge from the analysed data.
