1USE OF BIG DATA IN IMPROVING EDUCATION QUALITY
Abstract
Big Data is a very useful technology and has great applications in the everyday world. New
technologies such as data science help schools, university, and colleges to analyze the
behavioral patterns of students and teachers according to the needs of education. Different
universities can make use of big data in a number of ways according to their advantages.
They can help in providing feedback for the students, monitor the satisfaction of the students
and thus empower students to learn new things through the digital way.

3USE OF BIG DATA IN IMPROVING EDUCATION QUALITY
Topic: Comparative study on the usage of big data for improving the quality of
education
Chapter 1: Introduction
1.1 Introduction
Big Data has seen a massive momentum in the recent times (Bello-Orgaz, Jung &
Camacho, 2016). The education system has the capacity to produce a huge amount of data.
With the recent improvements in the field of data science and big data, it is possible to
unleash the vast sets of data. The research proposes to provide an overview of the use and
impacts of big data in improving the quality of education (De Mauro, Greco & Grimaldi,
2016). Big Data is a wide term, which can describe the huge volumes of data. The usage of
big data in the education sector could help in influencing the lives of individuals as better
forms of data may be processed and the capacity of storage of learning information might be
improved. These kinds of information could be helpful for the system of education (Lavertu,
2016). Big data can also help for analyzing the functioning of the system and their
improvements. Big Data is based on various other technologies such as cloud computing.
These kinds of technologies can help in improving the quality of education. These can
provide students with access to contents that are of lower costs and establish the relationship
with other learners. Big data can also support the existing educational system in analyzing the
knowledge of the students and several techniques of learning (Williamson, 2016).
1.2 Hypothesis
H1: The use of big data has a significant impact in improving the quality of education.
H2: Big data does not have an impact on improving the quality of education.

Chapter 2: Project Proposal
2.1 The aim of the Research
The research aims to recognize the various learning outcomes that can be achieved
when big data and data science technology would be incorporated into the modern system of
education.
2.2 The scope of the Research
The scope of this research is based on the various studies in the field of big data and
data science and the ways in which the technology has influenced and affected the
educational scenario. The research can also focus on improving the overall goal within the
educational system to improve the result of the students (Shmueli et al., 2017). Big data can
help in the real-time monitoring of the work of the students (Elbadrawy et al., 2016). It can
help in improving the detailed course outlines, which may be used by the students. Specific
algorithms can detect the reading manner of the students and the difficulties that are faced by
them. Based on the data collected, the queries of the student would be solved (Anshari, Alas
& Guan, 2016).
2.3 Objectives of the Research
The research has the following objectives:
To examine the extent of the impact of data science in the education system
To determine the experience of the student with the usage of big data
To understand the future of the educational system with the impact of big data
2.4 The methodology of the Research
The research would be conducted by collecting information from several journals,
media sources and research articles. All these articles would be revised in order to understand
the findings of the previous researches and the gaps that were present in them. Based on the

research, further investigation would be done for the betterment of big data analytics in
educational systems (Abbasi, Sarker & Chiang, 2016).
Chapter 4: Applications of Big Data in Education
Big Data has a major influence in education. Many applications such as Bubble Score
helps the teachers to deliver assessments with the help of mobile devices and perform paper
tests with the help of cameras of the phones. These kind of equipments and applications can
help in assisting the teachers and students to develop a healthy learning environment.
Moreover adaptive learning and problem control methodologies are also being introduced in
order to help for the betterment of educational needs.
Chapter 3: Problem Definition
This research is based on the discussion about the influence of big data and data
science in the context of education. The use of big data in education can be helpful in many
ways. It can transform the way in which students and teachers interact with each other. Hence
it is a significant issue that needs to be discussed in the following research methodology
(Song & Zhu, 2016). After the completion and the implementation of big data in education, it
would be very much useful for the teaching and learning purpose (Witten et al., 2016). Big
data and data science can impact the future of education institutions in terms of student
attainment and course offerings. This would result in the quality of the courses and the level
of satisfaction of the students and thus would enrich the education system.
