3INTERNET ENGINEERING
Introduction:
The internet of things is one of the emerging concepts in the current generation due to
various of technological advancement of it. The internet of things is actually the interrelated
system of the computing devices, digital machines, peoples and objects which consists a
unique type of identifier and is having the ability of transferring data over a network without
needing any type of human to computer and human to human interaction (Al-Fuqaha et al.
2015). In the aspect of internet of things or the IoT the big data plays an important role. The
big data analytics is very much useful for the IoT generated data analysis purpose (Tsai et al.
2015). In this way the big data actually assists the IoT to improve the decision-making
process of it.
In this report big data for the IoT will be discussed briefly. In this aspect a literature
review will be discussed regarding the topic and in the following section critical analysis will
be done of the literature paper.
Literature Review:
According to the authors Ge, Bangui and Buhnova (2018), in the current context the
Internet of Things or the IoT is very much promising technology. In this aspect the paradigm
of the research is characterized by utilization of the self-configuring and smart objects which
is capable of interacting with each other through the infrastructure of global network. The
concept of IoT is based on the smart sensors and the other devices which are controllable
through the internet services. In this aspect the IoT is having a crucial role in supporting the
development of the smart devices. In the aspect of internet of things, the authors have
founded that the big data technology is very much useful for the proper development and
advancement in the internet of things technology. In this aspect the big data technology can

can be extracted in a proper way (Ge, Bangui and Buhnova 2018). In this way the big data
technology can assist the internet of things technology to meet its actual purpose. In this
aspect the big data technology can also assist the internet of things systems to make the
critical decisions in an appropriate way (Ge, Bangui and Buhnova 2018). The topic of big
data is actually very large itself and for that extensive research is required for the big data.
There has been various of researches has been done on the big data technology and as a
conclusion it has been assessed that the big data technology is having above mentioned
advantages for the IoT system. Though the big data technology is having various of
advantages for the IoT system implementation of the big data is quite challenging in this case
due to the disparity among the domains of the IoT. There are various of domains for the IoT
which includes energy, healthcare, transportation and many more other domains (Ge, Bangui
and Buhnova 2018). Due to this large number of domains, evolution of the approaches of big
data for every IoT domain has been isolated. Thus, it is very much important to fix this issue
for proper implementation of the big data technologies in the aspect of IoT system. As per the
authors, to solve this issue mutual understanding among various of IT domains can be created
so that evolution of the big data research in the IoT system can be advanced further.
Thus, regarding this the authors has conducted a proper survey on the big data
technologies in the aspect of various types of IoT domains. Here, the main aim of the survey
is facilitating and stimulating the knowledge sharing among maximum of IoT domains. On
the basis of the review here, the authors have presented and discussed differences and the
similarities among various of big data technologies that are used within different types of IT
domains. In this aspect, this discussion has also suggested how one big data technology that
has been used in a specific type of IoT domain, can be re-utilized for another type of IT
domain (Ge, Bangui and Buhnova 2018). In this way conceptual framework can be
developed so that critical type of big data technologies can be outlined among all the IoT
can be extracted in a proper way (Ge, Bangui and Buhnova 2018). In this way the big data

domains that has been reviewed. In this paper the authors have mainly discussed industry
related important domains of the IoT for the integration of the big data technologies within it.
These domains of the IoT are the energy, transportation, building automation, smart cities,
agriculture, healthcare and military services (Ge, Bangui and Buhnova 2018). From the
analysis of them the authors have also determined that there are several of big data
technologies which are currently used for analytics of data in different of IoT domains.
Critical Analysis:
In this aspect one of the main themes that has been highlighted by the authors is the
research of big data technology in various of domain of IoT. With that other important
themes of the paper are the comparison of the big data technologies in various of IoT
domains, interpretation of the big data research, suggested big data technologies for the IoT
domains and the cons and pros of the big data technologies within the IoT domains. In this
aspect the authors has properly done the researches in various of fields of IoT systems.
Regarding this the authors has properly identified the main reasons for implementing IoT
system in this domains. In this way it has provided the importance to the research (Ge,
Bangui and Buhnova 2018). All the IoT domains that was mentioned earlier has been
discussed by the authors in this paper. How the implementation of the IoT system is going to
benefit the all of this sector has been properly justified by the authors. In this way, the
research done by the authors becomes quite validated. From those highlighted areas the
authors has also discussed the main processes and the life cycle of the big data technologies
(Ge, Bangui and Buhnova 2018). For the discussion of the main processes of the big data
technologies the authors has done a proper literature survey which has made this research
quite enriched with the peered data. Here, literature has been done on the six selected papers
and from there the authors has founded that there is no specific type of unified taxonomy
domains that has been reviewed. In this paper the authors have mainly discussed industry

agreed for the process and life cycle of big data. In this aspect it has been understood that
there are various of taxonomies for the processes and lifecycle of big data.
In this article the authors has properly defined the big data approaches in various of
domains of IoT system. Specifically, here the authors has focused on the analysis and the
classification of big data approaches applicable for various of IoT domains. In this aspect one
of the main advantage of this article is that search of the paper is not limited within specific
type of outlets also for those papers intercoder reliability check has been done so that it can
be ensured proper papers can be chosen in an independent way. The authors has provided
their findings in a tabular form so that it can be understood easily (Ge, Bangui and Buhnova
2018). In this aspect comparison among different type of IoT domains has been done form
the perspective of Big data. In this aspect the authors has first described the findings which
are related with big data in the domain of IoT. In this aspect it has been assessed that cloud
storage is most common storage solution for different types of IoT domains and this findings
of the authors is actually very much accurate. For the data analysis purpose it has been
assessed that most of the IoT domains are using the clustering process and for the
visualization purpose, data visualization is the mostly used process (Ge, Bangui and Buhnova
2018). For supporting this, the authors has done a vast amount of survey on different types of
academic papers, which has properly supported the statements of the authors.
Conclusion:
From the above discussion it can be concluded that big data plays a crucial role in the
aspect of IoT system as this acts as a critical data analysis tool. IoT devices requires proper
analysis of the data which they gather for complete functionality of the IoT devices and this
functionality of analysis is properly provided by the big data technologies. In this aspect the
paper “Big Data for Internet of Things: A Survey” has been evaluated perfectly and a
