Data Privacy issues in Big Data
Big data can be defined as the method of researching the typical data to identify the hidden
patterns associated with it. It consists of both structured and unstructured data. Big data is
considered to be one of the major necessities in today's scenario. It has made it made easier
and convenient for people to stay in touch and connect. But it has its limitations and
drawback which are related to the issues of privacy and security concerns. There is an urgent
need to solve this issue before this problem turns out to become a big disaster. Different areas
of big data are as follow the Internet of Things, Health care, social media. To address the
security concerns associated with the big data there is an urgent need to introduce some
security protocols and tools dealing with the problem of privacy protection.
Data security of big data addresses the following areas. These are: confidentially, integrity
and availability. Confidentially and integrity talk about the issues related to privacy. If the
integrity or the confidentially is hampered, it will have a direct impact on the privacy of the
user. While the term information, here, means the availability of the data when required by
the third parties. Problems related to security can be solved by the introduction of Public Key
Encryption (PKE). This PKE makes it possible for the sender to encrypt the data. This
ensures that it is de-encrypt by the valid party. Storage path encryption is responsible for
storing and accumulating the data in the cloud. During the process of cloud computing, the
data which is being outsourced is a threat. It is because the cloud cannot be trusted
completely. It should be made 100% sure by the owner that proper security measures are
being taken to maintain the authentication and privacy of the data.
