This report analyzes IT risk management, focusing on the security of Big Data, based on a case study conducted by ENISA. It identifies top threats such as nefarious activities, eavesdropping, and unintentional data loss, along with threat agents like cybercriminals, cyber terrorists, and online social hackers. The report discusses the impact of these threats and suggests mitigation strategies, including access control, cryptography, and security mechanism design. Furthermore, it explores the improvement of ETL processes through techniques like using only changed rows, batching, and implementing SQL Server destinations. The analysis concludes with an assessment of ENISA's current state of IT security and its effectiveness in identifying and addressing these crucial security challenges.
