Literature Review
AI Summary
This literature review explores the theory and practice of Building Information Modelling (BIM) management within the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry. It uses a deductive approach and positivism research philosophy, employing a descriptive research design with primary data collected via surveys from 55 industry employees. The review analyzes the adoption of BIM, its importance in increasing efficiency, enabling digital representation, and facilitating faster decision-making. It highlights the role of 3D model-based processes and collaborative 3D BIM in construction projects. The research concludes that BIM aids in virtualization, proposal development, and accurate visualization, contributing to a better understanding of building settings and digital product data exploitation.

Methodology
In order to conduct the research in proper way, deductive approach is selected. This
research approach is related to establishment of the theories to resolve the research problems and
test the theories with utilization of the empirical observation. The steps which the researcher has
followed to perform the deductive approach are theories and observations. In this deductive
approach, different arguments are to be used to provide reasons for specific fact as well as
arguments based on laws and rules.
On the other hand, positivism research philosophy has been selected for the research. In
this study, the researcher is independent form of the research study and there are no such
interests of the human in the study. This research philosophy is based on quantifiable
observations which can lead to the statistical analysis. It is focused on facts and phenomenon is
reduced to simple elements.
Descriptive research design has been selected for the research. It is a scientific method to
involve, observe and describe the behavior of the course subject with no influence on the study.
Observations are a way to view as well as record the participants. It describes evens plus studies
aim to discover interferences and casual relations. Observational along with survey methods are
used to collect of descriptive data related to selected research topic.
Primary data has been collected by organizing survey and quantitative analysis method
has been used in order to analyze the data collected for the research. Using this data collection
method, there is specific collection of the research projects. In order to understand the use of
BIM in the AEC industry, 55 employees in the related industry have been selected for survey.

(Love et al. 2014). From the design through, the process of execution as well as maintenance,
obtain advanced BIM solutions that take raw data as well as turn the process valuable. The
government of the UK has set several construction strategy targets, where BIM is expected
playing a crucial role in order to meet the targets. BIM allows for getting more information that
is held within the virtual model compared to any drawings or CAD system that could offer. For
an example, BIM could include the information like fire rating and energy efficiency rating.

5BUILDING INFORMATION MODELLING MANAGEMENT
According to the data presented in table, it shows that 36.36% respondents think that
BIM methodology helps to increase efficiency in AEC industry. On the other hand, 32.72%
respondents think that it helps to improve to make digital representation of functional and
physical characteristics of the places. However, 30.90% respondents think that it helps to make
faster decision-making process.
Urquhart and Fernandez (2016) stated that considering BIM in the process of living and
breathing virtual mock-up of a project, changing the information as well as feeding it, back into
the model can be helpful to identify the impact on wider scale. It leads to gain better decisions
and making less manpower. It leads to obtain better results as well as minimized costs. The UK
government has set the construction strategy targets as well as BIM expected to act an integral
part in order to meet the targets (Nilsen 2015). BIM helps in 33% minimization of construction
costs as well as lifespan maintenance. In addition, business process modeling helps in 50%
reduction of overall time from inception to the completion process.

Analysis:
According to the above table, it shows that 45.45% respondents think that BIM adoption
is initialized in the construction projects through 3D model based process. Nearly 18.18%
respondents think that it is initiated through implementing digital representation. However,
36.36% respondents think that BIM is initiated through developing collaborative 3D BIM.
Traditional building design is largely reliant upon two-dimensional drawings. However,
developing information modeling extends the process beyond of 3D and augmenting primary
spatial dimensions. There are currently several procedures involved with environmental
sustainability aspects. With the help of BIM, the heaviest users of building information modeling
can perform the process. In addition, there are 82% of the users of business information
modeling can influence productivity of the enterprise (Lowry and Gaskin 2014). In addition,
prefabrication possibilities of business information modeling can be widely utilized in order to
minimize the costs as well as enhancing the quality of work (Sparrow and Makram 2015).
Therefore, it is important to state that the processes of adoption of BIM are helpful for
development in construction as well as pre-project planning services.

Summary
BIM helps in virtualization of 3D rendering that could be produced in the additional
effort. On the other hand, it helps in developing the proposals and analyzed that helps to make
stimulations in better way. On the other hand, BIM helps in developing proposals that are
analysed properly. Accurate visualization made through business information management can
be helpful to make the process understood. It is not difficult to produce the drawings and
fabricating distinctive building setting. On the contrary, the digital product data as well as
information that can be exploited in the downstream process as well as used for the process of
manufacturing.
