Case Study
AI Summary
This assignment presents a case study analysis of ChemExec, a privately held pharmacy business, focusing on its current system's inefficiencies and the need for a new software solution. The existing system, which relies on a combination of Access databases, Excel spreadsheets, and outdated billing software, struggles with complex billing processes, order entry, and inventory management. The proposed new software aims to streamline data management, automate GST calculations, track expiry dates, and manage employee and order information. It will generate bills, accept both cash and online payments, and include an Android version for easy access by the manager. The analysis also acknowledges the system's limitations, such as the inability to send automated invoice reminders and reconcile invoices automatically. The provided references support the context of pharmacy system improvements. The project involves a collaboration between ChemExec and MelPolSys to develop and market the software, which will be a key component of the BIT232 Systems Design and Development course.

SYSTEM ANALYSIS AND DESIGN 1
The ChemExec is pharmacy business that is help privately. The company is currently
facing issues with its software. The main business problem with ChemExec is, for billing,
order entry and inventory management the company is currently using a combination of
access database and excel spreadsheet as well as an antiquated billing software that is custom
developed. The software has already become so much unwieldy as on the other hand the
medicare, facility contracts and the private health care funds have been becoming more and
more complex.
As the plan of the statement for new software, a new software will be developed for
the billing system of ChemExec. There will be several benefits of the software. The system
will be so much efficient for data management as will keep record of each activities in an
excel sheet. It will also give remainder of expiry dates of the drugs. As the system will be
GST compliant, the user do not need to calculate GST for every order as it will automatically
calculate. The system is capable for keeping all the record of all the data including employee
management and order management. The system will generate bills regarding all the orders.
The software will also accept payment in both the cash and online payment method. The
application will be having an android version too that the manager will be get each update
any time. However, the software has some exclusion too, as it is unable to send reminders
about automatic invoice also the system cannot reconcile invoice automatically.
