INTRODUCTION
The business communication is defined as the process of sharing information between the
people in an organisation or outside the business organisation. it is very important for the
organisation to have an effective business communication within the employs and the
management to interact to reach organisational goals and objectives. The main aim of the
organisation is to practise the various activities which can be only done by communicating
properly and reducing errors. There are various types of business communication such as
internal and external which is an important factor for the organisation. It is very important for
the management to conduct the communication properly within its support in it so that they
can perform that task in an effective and efficient manner. This report is the discussed in the
topic use of social media in workplace for communication with the staff members. This is an
important aspect for every business organisation.( Yin, Dou, Bai, & Hou, (2019, March). This
report will include various topic such as use of digital technology, its various uses with
advantages and disadvantages, analyse the difference sources on relation to the topic,
additional research.

It is very important for the business organisation to use the digital technology which can help
in communicating the various information from one department to another department. There
are various platforms of using social media in a workplace to communicate within the
employees which are discussed below:
Email- this is the most convenient platform which can be used by the business organisation
in order to communicate effectively and efficiently. The email business communication
includes the sharing of the various information, documents over mail which is the safest way
and a communication type in which employees are been updated.( Pelton, J. N. (2019).
WhatsApp- This is another application or platform which commonly used by the business
organisation in order to communicate effectively. After the pandemic the use of social media
and digital technology have become the most important part of life. Without this there is no
successful communication whether in business or personal life. In an organisation people
have to communicate from one department to the another. The WhatsApp have made the task
easier for the employees in effective working.

There are various advantages and disadvantages of the use of digital technology in an
organisation which are discussed below;
Advantages
Digital technology helps in engaging the employees in the workplace and engaging
them with a culture which have an effective communication because of use of various
digital platforms. This helps in increasing the productivity of employees by engaging
them and motivating them to increase their productivity to achieve the goals of the
business organisation.
The remote working is possible after the use of the digital technology within the
workplace to communicate effectively. As after the coronavirus situation it is been
observed that people can also work remotely which can help them in keeping
themselves save and the use of digital technology has just changed the perceptions
and culture of the organisation. (Deacon, Pickering,Golding,& Murdock, (2021).
Disadvantages
In some case there is the chance of the miscommunication because of the digital
technology if the user doesn’t understand something.
There is the use of high power in the digital technology which a disadvantage for the
business organisations.
The business organisation needs to implement various aspect so that they can bring the
employment and staff members know the use of social media can increase in the
effectiveness in the workplace. As it is been observed that after the pandemic people working
from home might face difficulty in communication the various task within its other team
members. The company can use of a platform which can help in communication collectively.
It is recommended that the use of the platform such as zoom meeting can increase in the
efficiency of the staff members while working in home. The organisation can make a
communication an effective way which does not feel boring to the employees. Also in such a
way people can be connected to each other and build relation with their co- staff members.

There were various sources which were taken into consideration for the understanding of
the use of social media in a workplace to communicate within the staff members. The various
sources have different topics such as social media at workplace, social media and internal
communication, social media usage in workplace. There are the sources which suggests that it is very
important to sue social media in order to communicate within the workplace and makes the sense of
the business organisation. the effective ways of the digital technology help the organisation in
communicating in an effective manner. The business communication plays an important role in
motivating and engaging employees within the organisation. The social media plays an important
role as there are various task which need to be communicated in a quick way and the use of social

Another aspect for the effective communication is that people should be aware of the decorum
which should be maintained. The employees are motivated because of the use of various platform
within the organisation.
