Content Travers (2015), described the theory
of emotional intelligence which can be
referred as the foundation of the personal
growth and success. I have not thought in that
way therefore this means that any person will
be able to recognize the emotions that the
person himself experiences and understands
the feelings associated with the emotions and
what the person think and do as the outcome.
The emotional intelligence depends upon the
ability of recognizing the emotions not only
within our self but also within others. The
emotional intelligence depends upon the basic
capabilities that involve self awareness, self
regulation, social awareness and relationship
management (Travers, Morisano & Locke,
2015). The self awareness and emotional
intelligence are necessary in our life as it help
us to recognize the emotions and the impact
of such emotions in our life. This also helps
us to know about our self worth and

capabilities and for identifying our strength
and limitations.
To what extent do you agree with the results
of the self-assessment?
I agree with the result of the self
assesment as the self evaluation is
manadatory for anybody. I found out the
importance of the self assesment. I also found
out the impact of the self awareness and
emotional intelligence on the professional
competencies is that if a person is unable to
determine the emotions that they are going
through then the emotional disturbances can
create effect to their work also. The
physiological sate of the whole body of the
person can drastically affect that is how the
person responds in the provided situation if
the person does not pays attention to it. Thus
the self assessment is necessary for
maintaining the professional competencies in
the workplace (Travers, Morisano & Locke,
2015).

and patience in the learning process of how to
communicate that is by using of the keywords
will help to interact with the diverse
professionals. Therefore I completely agrees
with the results of the self-assessment.
What have you learned about yourself from
the results of this self-assessment?
Travers (2015), stated the cross
cultural theory that I have been able to
recognize by determining my strengths that is
I believe in promoting the diversity and
developing the global mindset through the
cross cultural understandings. The emotional
intelligence helps me to understand the other
person’s emotions, which is the most
important factors in understanding other
cultural values.
I have also learned the fact that the
application of the emotional intelligence in
the workplace creates the effective differences
that is every day in the workplace we takes
the emotionally charged decisions. Sometime
we feel that this plan is better than the other

plan and could make choices based upon the
choices made as per our emotions and
feelings. When we understand the origin and
source of these emotions, especially when
working in a team, we are more at attuned to
each other. With globalization, emotional
intelligence is more significant than ever
when teams are cross-cultural and global,
increasing the complexity of interactions of
emotions and how they are expressed.
I have learned from the results that it
is essential to apply the strategies for
developing professional development. This
self-improvement learning process and the
strategies has helped me a lot to practice the
leadership skills and the emotional
intelligence helped me to take decision based
on the emotional values of others in the
diverse workplace.
I also learned that the opportunity of
self-improvement is required for the
professional development as it is required to

observe the communication style.

assessment to improve your
professional practice?
I would depend upon the following strategies
for effcetively interacting with other in the
diverse professional context are:
I require to commit to boost my own cultural
competencies as it is essential to educate
myself about the cultural traditions and the
approach towards work. I also required to
actively seek the new perspective and ideas
of dealing in the workplace comprised of
diverse professionals (Sen, 2017). I should
treat other people how they want to be
treated in the diverse working places. I should
focus on the diverse tradition and the
holidays from other cultures and is required
to celebrate for respecting the other cultural
values. I also require to contribute the
cultural diversity in the diverse workplace.
