Understanding People and Organization
According to Wood (2018), human beings are peculiar creatures than other animals due
to their creativity and linguistic ability. They are also special because they possess inherent
attributes that lack in other animals and have innate characters that cannot be transferred to
another creation. Factors that contribute to uniqueness of human beings are high developed
cognitive ability, instinct and personality traits (Wood, 2018). Understanding human beings
brings out acknowledgment of the capacity of people. Learning through which people acquire
their behavior can involve both formal and informal through training and educational program
and through experience respectively. On the other hand, organization is a setting where all work
aspects are carried out. People coalesce to form an organization in order to attain a collective
agenda and employ various means in the process of pursuing a collective goal. A successful
organization assures that there is a trade-off between efficient work system and motivation and
engagement of employees to ascertain the overall organization performance is realized. This
paper will critically discuss an understanding of people and organization.
The contemporary society have attributed to organization that has a diverse workforce
(Katrini, 2018). Disparity of people who work within an organization can be a big challenge if it
is not properly harnessed to bring the desired result of diversity at the workplace. Establishing
such a workplace requires that people have to learn to work well with others. Diversity of either
age, gender, race education, ethnicity should not be barrier to working together in an
organization but it should be an opportunity for bringing different views to the table and coming
up with solution that cuts across barriers of diversity (Barak, 2016). People from different
backgrounds bring different ideas to the table which enable decision making process in

organization to be inclusive. This means that an organization can easily market its brand to
consumers because it has diverse workforce that understand various niches of consumers.
Organizational operations involves constant problem solving ranging from production,
marketing, human resource and social responsibilities (Rinaldo, Volder-Bisig & Trsch, 2017) All
these critical factors touch on human behavior. Production or creation of goods and services
become efficient and affordable when the human capital is adequately employed. The main
problem in production is cutting on cost and the best way is to ensure that wastage is reduced
through proper delegation of duties and also effective book keeping. Marketing incorporates a
number of challenges such as promotion, the pricing strategy, the market segment and entry for
new products (Levering & Vos, 2019). These challenges can be resolved through localization of
advertisement and standardization of product quality in order to reach a larger share and also to
retain the brand image. These are critical factors that an organization that is operating on
overseas market should consider. Promotion should be tailored to meet the diverse taste and
preference of consumers as well as to reach various group people despite of their difference. It is
critical that most organization should take a neutral stand in the difference of people because
each person is a potential client or customer who will be attracted or repelled by the way they are
treated. Being neutral is the best way to go about it and the right way to fit into different cultures
and norms across the globe.
Organization is greatly associated to the behavior of people. In fact, it forms the crucial
element of an organization which is organizational culture. Culture involves set of values, norms
and ideologies that an organization operates in (Cobley, 2017). one way of instilling the right
organizational culture is through training and development. Training and development assures

that people within the organization have the right skills and ability to realize the objectives of the
organization. Therefore it is a process of learning and self-development. People are given a
chance to learn new skills and to hone their abilities to meet the ones needed in their field of
operation. This learning process endows to people the right attitude towards their organization
and also create the right work environment since people are more engaged and motivated to
employ themselves at various tasks adequately (Katrini, 2018).
Self-development involves acquiring the right leadership skills and exploiting the
available means to increase your competency at the workplace. Getting the right skills makes an
individual to be competent at their tasks and to be more involved since their confidence has been
improved as they know what they are doing. When this is attained, the objectives of an
organization are easily realized. Establishing a work environment where employees are highly
skilled and motivated to work thoroughly. Organization continuity is dependent on achieving
objectives. Also, an organization has to consistently adapt to new changes because they world is
constantly changing and adopting new ways of life. A success story is reliant on how fast and
organization can adopt to the contemporary changes.
