INTRODUCTION
Black lives matter is the issue which is raised because black people were not treated
equally by the society. This report will discuss the possible solutions to this issue. Further it will
discuss that why not recommending two solutions. This report will also give one solution to the
problem.
MAIN BODY
Introducing nature of the issue
Black lives matter is the political and social movement which are started to protect
against incidents which include police violence and other racial violence against such people
who are of black colour. Main issue is related to black life and removal of the statue of Cecil
Rhodes. Statue should be kept in museum so that it can give information to the visitors regarding
past of Britain. It is the movement which focus on black people as black people are discriminated
on the basis of colour. This movement has become vast and includes lot of people and big
organizations. The organizations which had attached themselves with this movement raise their
voice against police violence against black people. As police in US has beaten black person so
much that he died. This movement is important so that in the future mentality of racism can be
removed form the mind of people. Everyone is equal and humans are given colour by god only
than why people discriminate on the basis of colour. Some people want to remove black people
and believe that they should leave alone.
Protest is also related to policies which government should make specifically for black people.
Black people should get reservation because in many organizations and at educational
institutions they are not treated equally Mohdin (cited in Quinn 2020) states, college “Oxford
college backs removal of Cecil Rhodes statue”. Black lives matter movement has spread
worldwide and everyone in the world has started supporting it. On social media
#balcklivesmatter started trending. The topic comes in light when police officer shooted African
American. Many groups of people started campaign and also started educating on this topic. To

speak on this topic was very important because discrimination on the basis of colour was
increasing day by day and reaction of police against coloured people was very bad. By police
actions there are number of African American who died and unnecessary kept in police custody.
In the starting this movement has highlighted only at national level then soon it has become
international sensation as everyone started taking about black life. The negative mindset against
black people have to be removed from their roots. If it will remove from its roots than only black
people will get same respect in the society which white people are receiving.
Remove them
As the university is voting to remove the statue. They also have started campaign to remove the
statue. Statue is in demand to remove because it is the statue of the prime minister of Africa. If
talking about black life than Government should be come up with policies related to black life
where black people should have given reservation in educational institutions. In those institutions
also teacher should give education on this topic. As mindset is developed from childhood only so
teachers should teach their students that all people are equal and discrimination on the basis of
colour, gender, religion, caste etc. is not good and should be avoided. If children will give this
knowledge from their childhood only than they will treat everyone equal. In the case of black
lives matter, this has become issue because of people's mindset. People think that black people
should change themselves according to white people. From childhood only they are raised in
such environment where they heard from lot of people that black life is not important and these
people are not important for the society. They are the low level people Hunt (cited in M 2020
sates, universities “Tearing down history”.
This issue can be made as voting issue in the area. At the time of election voters should ask
politician about their thought on brutality against black and what policies they will bring for
black people. For gaining vote it will pressurize on politician to make policies in favour of black
people. It is in the hands of voter who they want to vote. If voters are observing that politicians
are taking this matter seriously than on the basis of this they can give their vote. Starting
campaign can also helpful in solving this issue. As campaign will give awareness on this topic
and also attract people to join campaign. If more people will join campaign than it will impact
society and government. This has become international issue so together and being united can
also help in solving the issue. Government should punish such police officers who are doing

violence with black people. Police have no right to unnecessary beat the innocent. If one police
will get punishment than only other police will stop doing such activities.
From the above discussion it is recommended that as the solution on black lives matter
government should only make policies which are in the favour of black people and can safeguard
their interest.
Leave them alone
Leave them alone is also not the solution. Two solutions are not recommended because policy
recommendation is more effective. In the above question it is also answered that educational
institutions should also teach their students to spread awareness on this topic. Out of this two
solution recommendation will be given to government policies. Government have power, and
they can influence society with their actions. Educational institutions can only spread awareness
and give knowledge on this topic but cannot pressurize to follow what they are saying whereas
government have power and everybody has to follow policies which are framed by the
government. As people will have fear that if they will not follow what government is saying then
government can punish them. Organization will also change their policies and implemented new
policies under which equal treatment will be given to black people.
Policies bind people to follow it and policies can also become law. When black people are not
treated equally then it will demotivate them and that is not good the organization also. As if they
will demotivate then it will reduce their productivity. It is also observed that if one solution can
be implemented more effectively than two. It is also seen that more weightage is given to
policies because in this government in included. In the recent time violation of black is done by
police only which is the government officer. So if government will implement policies which
safeguard black people's interest than their officers will also treat equal to black people.
Change or move them
Statue can be move because due to statue controversy and protest are holding. In order to stop
the violence, it is advised that statue should be moved to different place.
Effective solution is the government policies. As policies which are made and implemented by
the government have to be followed by everyone. People agree or do not agree but government
policies are mandatory and have to be followed. If government will come with policies which
support black people than white people have to follow it. This will helps in safeguarding the
interest of black people. Black people will not have to face discrimination on the basis of colour

in the society. Then organization have to adopt anti-racist policies as these policies are imposed
by government. If organization implement policies in their recruitment and at the way they treat
their staff than many problems will get solved automatically. Racism has gone into deep and can
be removed only if government will become strict and take actions against such people or
organization who will discriminate on the basis of colour Moore (cited in J 2020) states, students
“On the Removal of Statues”.
As structural racism is prevailing in the society which include racism on the basis of employment
discrimination, disparity in justice system, disparity in health facility, disparity in education
system. Black people are facing this kind of discrimination from ages so now time has come that
government should look into this matter seriously and should make policies for black people.
Government should also spread awareness on this topic and should also give punishment to those
people or organizations who are not treating black people equally they are treating white people.
Companies should change their mindset as some companies think that black people are not
capable to be promoted at higher positions. Black people are also efficient and have capabilities.
If company will give opportunities to black people then they will definitely show their
capabilities.
CONCLUSION
Through this report it can be concluded that black lives matters has become the serious
issue and it is not only discussed by national people but has become global issue. People
worldwide are more concerned and got aware on this topic. The topic which is selected is move
them. If due to the statue campaign are run and people want to do violence then it should be
moved to those place where people does not have any issue with it. People are discriminating
with black people because of their colour. They are not allowed to enjoy rights which white
people have. People have build mindset to remove them from society. They are treated badly
everywhere whether at educational institutions or organizations. Black people are also humans,
so they must give same respect and dignity which other are getting. University can remove statue
or redesign it for those who think Rhodes has took stand for offensive. Report has also discussed
solutions which can be adopted in order to solve this issue. Government should come up with
policies which can save the interest of black people. Educational institutions should also give
knowledge to the students on this topic. Recommendation is not given for two possible solutions

because policies which are made by government is more important and everyone will follow
policies laid by the government.
