INTRODUCTION
Technology can be considered as the new and advanced way of improving the processes by
increasing the rate of doing it (Wheelen and Hunger, 2011). The digital technology has been
successful as it has changed lives in various aspects. Whether it is in case of restaurants, hotels or
any firm, it has been successful though in bringing a huge amount of change in it. The report is
about the use of digital technology along with its impact on The Black Penny. Along with this, it
includes the analysis of data by various means in evaluating the performance of digital
technology. Also, it includes various research methods which can help the whole research
throughout.

Research can be termed as a way that is considered efficient systematic to use for collecting all
the information and data for the whole research (Den Hertog,Van der Aa and De Jong, 2010).
The collected information helps in increasing the understanding of a person. A research method
can be said as a pre plan structure which will be used in doing all the factors of the research.
Factors of research methodology are as following :
Research strategy
It is considered as a way by which the researcher can make implementation of all the
techniques and strategies in a way that it can help in analysing the whole research. It
involves various techniques that he researcher will make use of in the research, Research
strategy is categorised in two ways, either by the qualitative or by the quantitative.
Qualitative strategy will be used in this study by the researcher.
Research Philosophy
Research philosophy is the belief of researcher in the way information and data is being
collected and analysed. It is because after the whole analysis, it is being used in the research
by the researcher. The research philosophy can be categorised in various forms such as
positivism, interpretivism, realism etc. In this research, the realism one will be used by the
research because it is related to the scientific enquiry. It helps in disclosing the reality about
the objectives that are already existing.
Research approach
It is divided into inductive and deductive research approach (Stokes, Wilson and Wilson,
2010). The deductive approach deals with the longitudinal case study but the inductive one
deals with new technologies that are emerging. So, the researcher will focus on the already
made rather than using the new ones, so deductive approach will be used in this research.
Data collection
It is a method by which the researcher can collect information for the research. There are two
method of collecting it, either by the way of primary research or by secondary means. In
case of primary, it collected initially and it includes means like surveys, focused groups
or interviews whereas the secondary data is already gathered by some other third party.

Different examples include books, journals or by online means. Researcher will make
utilisation of the primary data as in analysing the impact of digital technology, surveys
and interviews can help the researcher more than using the secondary one. It is because
the previous experiences from surveys can help the researcher more in analysing the
influence of technology on the organisation.
Research limitations
It can be considered as any one or more than one area which may lack in between or can
behave as a barrier for the whole research. Like in case if the researcher extends the duration
time of the whole research by thinking that more time can make the research more better,
then in that case, the research must analyse that involving more time can mean involving
more cost and time as well (Wheelen and Hunger, 2011). So, if at that point, the researcher
may lack in these resources, then it can act as limitations for the whole research and may
affect it as well. So, it is better for the researcher to finish the study in a set deadline so that
the research may not have to face any such barrier or limitation.
Sampling
Sampling is considered as a process which is being done statistically and then used in the
research. In this, few samples from a large amount of population are being taken which
helps in analysing the research more efficiently (Shattock, 2010). Different examples can be
simple random sampling (SRS), cluster sampling etc. Although all the ways are efficient
enough but stratified sampling method has been used by the researcher as the samples that
have been gathered from a large amount of population will be classified in smaller groups
and precise interviews can be acquried from them in order to get an efficient amount of data
that will help in understanding better the impact of digital technology on the Black Penny.

commerce can help the Black Penny to an extent that it can be able to achieve all the success
factors along with its targets and goals.
P6. Recommendations for the chosen research
It can be considered as a very essential process for the Black penny to involve the
digitalisation in the restaurant because it can help the restaurant on an overall basis. It will be
helpful in replacing all the manual processes like the restaurant used to do all the processes
manually which is a very time consuming and involves much cost too. So, it is better for the
Black penny to involve the digitalisation in the company so that they can be able to replace all
their manual processing with the digital ones which will further help in maximized rate of doing
activities. As the technologies have a specific amount of time in doing an activity, so it cannot
result later or before that timing. Therefore, the digital technology can assure the Black Penny in
getting efficient deliveries. There are some recommendations that the Black Penny can make use
of after the involvement of digital technology in the restaurant and these are discussed as under :
 The Black penny should organise some training sessions for the employees because for
them, using the digital technology is completely new, so they might be lacking in
understanding how to make use of it. So it is better if the restaurant provide some
sessions to all the staff and employees of the Black Penny. The factor Black Penny
should consider here is that they must assign professionals to train them because they
only can guide properly, otherwise blunders can be expected from the employees only.
So, the Black Penny should ensure to guide them with the help of professionals only.
 Also, while using, they must be facing various issues but providing them sufficient ways
that how they can deal with the complications and complexities can help in increasing the
morale of the employees. So some sessions are must to provide to them.
 The Black Penny should ensure about all the processes that they need to replace from
manual to digital. It is because a pre analysis can help the restaurant in processing more
efficiently. It is because at present, they are doing every process manually which is a very

time consuming process, so they can even think of replacing every manual process to
digital so that they can save a huge amount of time and cost which can further help the
Black Penny in achieving success and targets at a much faster rate.
 The Black Penny should also ensure the fact that they have to provide some time to the
employees because as the use of digital technology is new for them, so it is an obvious
factor that it must take some time for them to learn about it. It is obvious fact that
learning something which is new takes some time and one cannot become gem in that in
a very few time. So, the Black Penny should provide them efficient time so that they can
learn it smoothly and efficiently enough that they can make use of it properly and in an
order such that they can be able to help the company in achieving all the targets and
goals.

P7. Reflection
While doing the whole study, I have learned the importance of digital technology and
how it can change the whole scenario of an organisation. As in case of the Black penny, I
understood that the digital technology replaced all the manual processes as doing every process
manually is very time consuming and involves much cost too. I realised various methods of
collecting the data as primary or secondary. But I think the way of collecting the information in
primary way that is from the means of surveys, interviews and focused groups, it could help the
research more than using the secondary data. I think primary data is better in analysing because it
is the data that is being collected at the first time, so the person itself can analyse better using it.
Also, I did the analysis of data in which the data is being taken from the employees and staff of
the Black Penny.
A proper and efficient data analysis assists me in the development of all aims and
objectives of the particular study. I also was able to understand different tools and techniques
that the Black Penny can utilise for involving in the restaurant which can further increase the
number of successful factors and the ways they can use for achieving all its targets and goals at a
faster rate. I understood various research methods as well which increased my knowledge of
using the strategies and various techniques in the Black Penny. I also realised that the
involvement of digital technology helped the restaurant in different aspects, which further helped

in increasing the rate of doing activities which can assist the Black Penny in achieving all its
targets and goals at a much faster rate. I also understood the fact that giving the employees
proper time and motivation about the new and digital technology is a very essential factor as the
Black Penny is coopering with the employees to a huge extent that by this way, they can also
consider that they are important for the company, thus it further helps in maintaining their focus
towards the work. It will further help the company in achieving all its targets and goals at a faster
rate. After analysing the information and data, it was quite simple for me to reach to a
conclusion. I understood two methods for collecting the data and they were the primary and the
secondary. In my opinion, use of primary data in this research will help the researcher more in
analysing the impact of digital technology in the Black Penny as the data from the surveys and
interviews can help better than of the data from online, books and journals.
CONCLUSION
It has been concluded from the study that digital technology has helped the Black penny
in enormous ways as it replaced the whole manual process which saved a lot of time and cost of
the restaurant. Also, it helped the restaurant in an increased rate of activities which termed as a
very beneficial process for the Black Penny. The data has been analysed in various ways and so
does various research methods have been used in the research for a better analysis. Also, it
included some recommendations which could help the Black Penny more in implementing
strategies and involving ways over the whole research.
