Analysis of Issues Surrounding Corporate Culture, Communication and Employee
Performance
The main problems which have been noticed in the Bloomberg Company include the
performance of employees, corporate culture and communication. Firstly, in case of
communication, the main problem which has been noticed is related to the autocratic type of
leadership which was impacting the viewpoints which were shared by the employees. The CEO
tried to impose his viewpoints and they use to take the decisions solely by themselves without
consulting any of the viewpoints of the subordinates which impacts the performance of the tasks
in a negative manner.
In addition, the communication which is being followed at Bloomberg is top down
approach wherein the different employees do not have any voice to comment on the decisions
which are being made by the company. From the article, there are few instances wherein it has
been seen and noticed that when the different journalists bring in some news, the CEO himself
checks the entire authenticity of the data which have been managed. From such instances, it can
be made clear that there are trust issues from superiors towards their subordinates and it impacts
the efficiency of the work negatively as well (TheAustralian.com.au 2020).
Lastly, the corporate culture of the company Bloomberg was not up to the mark as there
was lack of diversity among the different cultures. The CEO of the company created the culture
of cruelty wherein the female employees were treated in a alleged manner. Due to such acts, the

company has been suffering high level of turnover among the different employees which
impacted the profitability to a certain extent.
Ways through which Journalistic Culture of Bloomberg can be Improved with Enhanced
Communication Skills of Media Professionals whom it Employs
In order to improve the communication skills of the different media professionals who
will be hired at Bloomberg, there are few aspects which are required to be followed that are as
follows:
Firstly, the viewpoints of the employees and media professionals need to be taken into
consideration which will be beneficial in improving effectiveness of the services which are being
delivered by the company. As it is the journalist profile and journalism company, proper
embracement is highly needed for conveying the message in a concise and prompt manner
(Wahab and Jaafar 2018).
Secondly, the employers of the company need to provide the employees with the positive
feedback and guidance for the different stories which have been analyzed by them. It will be
giving them the spirit to perform the work with more dedication and their morale will be high as
well. The proper level of bonding and coordination are the two vital elements which need to be
adopted by Bloomberg for making their business flourish (Rojas 2018).
Disagree without being disagreeable is the other aspect that is needed to be implemented
by the CEO of Bloomberg as support is the key element that is needed in each and every field of
work. When the culture of the company will be allowing the people to challenge the ideas, plans
along with suggestions, it will be possible for creating the company of thinking along with
committed people (Perko et al. 2016).

Individuals Comply with Company’s Corporate Culture
The cultural differences between the countries can have high degree of impact to which
the individuals need to comply with the corporate culture of the company. The main reason
behind the same is that whatever sector, the business is operating in, cultural differences can be
creating direct impact on the profitability of the entire business. Improving the level of
knowledge of the international cultural difference in the business can aid in proper building of
the international competencies along with enabling the company in achieving the competitive
advantage in the environment in which it is operating (Rojas 2018).
However, due to the cultural differences, there can be different kinds of issues which
include the differences in opinions along with viewpoints of the people. In such scenario,
recognizing the importance of the culture plays a critical role in the business world for the
generating of the success in global marketplace. In case of Bloomberg, it has been noticed that
the company is operating in many places, in such scenario, understanding the culture of the
country in which it is operating and the employees understanding the corporate culture of the
company are the signs of the respect. It helps in fostering the effective communication which is
the vital factor for the success of the business.
Lastly, while doing business in the international or global basis, it requires proper
understanding of the various cultures and there can be different cultural issues, for which proper
awareness is needed and required. For ensuring the effectiveness of the company, Bloomberg
needs to implement such diverse culture attitude in the company for making their business highly

In the respective case study image, the characteristics of the non-verbal image which
have been indicated is related to body movement and postures, facial expressions, gestures along
with space. While watching the event, the audiences who are present in the scenario are known
to one another and they are excited and tensed regarding the event which is watched by them
together. Firstly, it can be seen that there are hand movements of the audiences which means that
they are engrossed into watching something exciting. Moreover, there are facial expressions
present in the respective situation which means that they may be talking regarding the scores or
the performance of the event which is being watched by them. Many of them are comfortable
sitting with one another; however, they are few wherein their facial expressions are enough to
comment that they are not comfortable (Leavitt, Keegan and Clark 2016).
From the image, it can be analyzed that many of them are not at all comfortable in the
respective zones as it can be noticed that the other person is sitting really close and it is invading
their space. There is problem related to space for few of the individuals watching the event
(Anazi, Ismail and Zailaini, 2018). On the other hand, there are few other audiences who are
enjoying and they are comfortable with their respective zones and from the same, it can be
understood that those who are comfortable can be relatives or family friends which makes the
situation light and there is no such invading of personal space in the public environment
(Mimura and Kikuchi 2019).
From the analysis of the case study image, there should be exceptions to the usual rules
of the personal space when in the crowd of people like this through rising of the voice and
making the people or audience next to them understand that they are not comfortable with their

behavior or approach of sitting (Kumazaki et al. 2019). For instance- In the image, there is a girl
who is keeping quiet and beside her, there is a guy who can be at fault. In such scenarios, the
tone and loudness are the two key elements that are needed to be implemented for handling such
situations in a proper manner (Jovanović and Zdravković 2017).
In life, there are different other situations such as crowded lift or bus wherein there
should be zone of physical proximity which allows the different people to feel highly
comfortable in presence of other people. Especially for the ladies who are travelling in different
public transports or in lifts, the non-verbal and the verbal communication are the two major
aspects which are needed to be followed by the passengers for making the person understand that
due to them, they are feeling discomforted (Burgoon, Guerrero and Floyd 2016). The raising of
the voice is the key element which is needed to be used by the ones who are feeling discomfort
which should be loud enough to make the individual understand that due to them, they are
feeling uncomfortable (ANJORIN and Jansari 2018). The tone of the voice should be able to
indicate the anger in their approach which will be beneficial in handling such circumstances
(Barak 2016).
In the personal lives, the individuals need to be vocal regarding what they are feeling and
making others understand that there is a way to behave in public. In addition, the posture is the
other critical element which helps in making strong impression. Someone who is standing with
back straight along with head held high are confident and they have the knowledge in handling
such instances in an appropriate manner (Bambaeeroo and Shokrpour 2017). For instance-
During the last year 2019, while I was travelling with my parents for a short vacation in flight,
there was a man sitting next to me and he was constantly changing his postures for sitting. I
noticed it for half an hour and then, I directly spoke to him with full confidence and told him that

it is the public transport and try to be seated properly as I am not feeling uncomfortable. He felt
embarrassed and till we got down from flight, he was behaving properly.
From such instances, it can be seen that the voice and tone are the two critical elements
which are needed to be implemented while dealing with such uncomfortable situations.
