3. Lack of Organization Structure
Analysis: Blue & Green operates at the small scale level as the company has 10 employees, due
to that there is no hierarchical structure. From the analysis of fishbone diagram it is known that
there is lack of specialization across the departments, flow of processes are not defined and
authority and responsibilities are not appropriately defined to employees. Bratton and Gold,2017,
stated that all this resultant in low productivity, high employee turnover and impact directly on
decision making ability. Due to all these issues or problems changes cannot be implemented in
the company.
Recommendation: It is recommended that Blue & Green Company should develop a proper
hierarchical structure this help in to adapt changes in the company easily. Further, chain of
command should be designed that includes who should report to whom this leads to coordination
between employees and departments, ensure accountability of actions performed by employees
and will benefit the company (Bratton and Gold,2017). According to Guest,2017, hierarchal
structure includes communication responsibilities to each employee with the information about
whom to report. Moreover in order to improve the structure tasks should be assigned to
employees as per expertize that leads to specialization in processes with that business can expand
and grow in near future (Guest, 2017). In a nutshell, the company can implement this when lack
of organization structure leads to poor management and low productivity as improving its
organization structure by developing hierarchy, strong communication channel and chain of
command help in to manage change in the organization.
