Introduction
Change is an inevitable part of any project and proper management of changes in a
project is necessary to ensure that a project is proceeding as per plan (Heldman, 2018). Effective
project management is associated with proper change control and change management so that at
the end of the project, the key project specifications are met (Stackpole, 2013). A number of
problems were identified for the blue spider project that needed effective management to ensure
that the project is a success. In the following paragraphs the changes that were needed in the blue
spider project were identified followed by discussing the process of submitting a change. The
report further discusses the options of satisfying each change and the key risks associated with
the option of change. The report provides the evidence of a complete change request form
associated with the chosen project.
1. Identification of the Changes Required
The case study Blue Spider needed significant changes that could have eliminated or
significantly reduced the chances of project failure.
The analysis of the case indicated that there were certain issues with the project plan that
lead to the project going over budget. The key change that is needed in the blue spider project is
redesign and develop the project plan that will ensure that the key specification of the project are
met.
Another change that is essential for the project include change in the communication
process of the project. There were issues with the communication within the team as the team
lacked effective communication. To formulate this change and incorporate the same in the
project it is essential to properly identify the key communication needs in the project.

Another change that is required in the blue spider project is related to management of the
human resources. The analysis of the case study indicate that there are certain issues that were
faced with the management of the human resources. The changes were needed in terms of
allocation of the human resources throughout the entire duration of the blue spider project.
The identified changes in the project will have certain impact on scope, time, cost and
quality of a project. The impact of the said changes and the technique of managing the impact of

The process of submission of a change request plays a significant role in incorporation of
the key changes in the project. There are certain essential steps that are needed to be followed for
managing the changes in the project (Dawson, 2019). The process of change request that is to be
followed for the blue spider project are indicated as follows-
1. Identification of the necessary and required changes in the project.
2. Determining whether a particular change is within the scope of the project or out of the
scope
3. Assessing the priority of the proposed changes and deciding the course of action
4. Drafting the request for the required changes in the project (Cameron & Green, 2019)
On analysis of the case study, it is observed that certain changes are required in the
project plan, communication plan and in management of the resources needed for the project. On
assessment of the changes needed, it is observed that the change in the project plan and the
communication plan is needed to be prioritized. Therefore, the project team should work
on/implement these changes on the project to reduce the chances of project failure.

The process of submitting a change request involves communication of the key changes
needed in the project along with communicating the changes so that the project team remains
prepared for the changes that will be incorporated. The course of action of going forward with
the change is required to the communicated to the team to ascertain successful implementation of

project by all the team members, a change request is successfully submitted.
3. Options to satisfy each change and Risks
The analysis of the Blue Spider project case has indicated four major changes that are
needed to be incorporated in the project to ascertain that the initial specification and the
requirements of the project are met. The options to satisfy each change and the risk associated
