1. Introduction
A case study of AB Pty. Ltd is investigated, where the business analyst has completed
analysis. Mainly, the information collected by the analyst includes that, it is a delivery service
small business, which covers Austin downtown, Texas, USA. The business comprises of 3 trucks
for the product delivery. Gradually, the business saw that on a daily basis low deliveries are
being completed. This resulted in increasing the list of pending deliveries. To add to this
problem, the customers were sending feedbacks to show their dissatisfaction on late service. The
problem identified includes management issue, which leads to all the above mentioned problems.
This reports objective refers to resolving the management problem, delivery issue and
customer dissatisfaction. A proposed solution will be presented with a proper design and
deployment plan.

2. Proposed Solution
Using IBM Bluemix service, the proposed system will work on developing an intelligent
vehicle tracking application, which contains the below mentioned characteristics:
a) The deliveries will be managed, by dividing and monitoring.
b) The delivery zones will be divided in to North, South, East and West, for easy access.
c) Trucks location will be monitored continuously (Breeding, 2012).
d) The truck driver can be contacted any time, to overcome the issue of uncertain
circumstances.
e) Notifications and alert messages will be active for the truck drivers and the
administrator.
3. Design Plan
For designing the plan of an intelligent vehicle tracking application, the steps are:
Step 1:Go to the website and log in.
9

Step 3:Internet of Things should be integrated with IBM Bluemix services.
Step 2:IoT should be configured.
Step 3:Enter, device type, ID and name.
Step 4:Generate new APIKeys using “Add API.”

Step 12:Choose the “Alert” option at the end, to provide alerts(Ibm.com, 2016).
Finally, https://api.ng.bluemix.net., will direct to the developed application.
4. Deployment Plan
The plan for deployment is as follows:
Deployment comes only when the design work has completed, which includes some
testing. The establishment of communication with the truck driver is checked for tracking the
truck’s movement, whereSet Property command plays a major role in this test. Initially, the
command allows to connect to the map applications. Later, necessary modification for the
application’s properties can be performed (Antonopoulos & Gillam, 2017).

5. Self-Reflect
The telemetry data are used to visualize the company information and it put the effort that
goes into effectively analyzing, utilizing and managing the company information. It easily
understood the company function to reduce everything without sacrificing the organization needs
and objectives. It easily enables the data collection from the remote points to support the vehicle
tracking visualization, analysis and monitoring. It easily contributes to implement the virtual
images of the trucking system to provide the effective processes on the basic of real products
from the factory.
6. Difficulties
The creation of smart application is takes some times to access the IBM blue mix services. It
has one or more difficulties to create the smart applications like vehicle tracking system such as
code editing, creation of database, application configuration, application deployment and
Geospatial analytics creations.
7. Conclusion
The business case study of AB Pty. Ltd is completed analyzing. The business analyst has
listed down a set of recommendations, form which the newly hired ICT Professional have chosen a

solution, to solve the issue of delayed delivery service and customer dissatisfaction. The business is
realized to have 3 trucks and has problems in managing the deliveries on time. The solution
considered is a intelligent application that can help the business with assigning the deliveries and
tracking the movement of the trucks to ensure that the trucks are on their assigned tasks. IBM
Bluemix service is utilized. The solution is proposed with a design plan and a deployment plan in
this report, to produce an intelligent vehicle tracking system.
