INTRODUCTION
An application of methods, skills, experience and process for accomplishing particular
project objectives as per acceptance criteria with determined parameters is said to project
management (Li, 2018). For understanding about project management, selected project is
Transport for London (TfL) that aims to undertake road projects for devising greener, safer, more
attractive streets along with improving entire bus networks across London. Moreover, the
objective of the project is celebrating 40th anniversary of G&S Society and unveiling strategic
direction for TfL. Reason to undertake the project of TfL is to invite project management plan
for staging one of popular operettas of playwright William G. Gilbert as well as composer Arthur
Sullivan to be submitted for consideration.
The report highlight critical analysis of project management methodology, network
diagram and Gantt Chart for the project. It also includes stakeholder analysis, work breakdown
structure and organisational structure for the event. Further, it comprises preparing Risk Analysis
and determines measures to be put for controlling the event.
TASK 1
Justification of the project and critical analysis of methodology that would be appropriate for the
project as well as reason
Transport for London is a project with objective of celebrating 40th Anniversary of G&S
Society as well as unveiling strategic directions for London transportation. The deliverables of
the project includes developing some of Land along Bollo Lance for creating around 800 new
homes in Acton.
Project methodology could be termed to set of guiding processes as well as principles to
manage a project. In aspect to project of Transportation for London, selected methodology is
Scrum methodology that is designed to help teams developing complex projects. By using Scrum
methodology, project management of TfL is able to encourage stakeholder involvement
throughout working and creates higher transparency for ensuring that expectations are managed
in effective manner. Benefit of using Scrum methodology in the project includes increased
investment returns, higher customer satisfaction, greater team morale, enhances collaboration

team members and creates pressure for spending huge time durations in developing the project
(Hale, 2021).
Within project of TfL, Scrum methodology is more appropriate because it includes
frequent updates and check-ins at the time on requirement of changes that do not languish for
weeks’ prior someone notices. It also helps in completing work more effectively to achieve
desired outcomes.
TASK 2
i. Developing network diagram
Network Diagram could be described to graphical representation of any kind of project. It
is composed of series of connected arrows together with boxes in order to elaborate inter
relationship among activities that are part of project. For project of Transportation of London,
network diagram is prepared for assisting team members to visualise activities which requires to
be completed over time of project. Moreover, it provides crucial context such as sequence,
dependency addition to sequence. In context to project of TfL, network diagram is developed
underneath:

time

Late Start Duration Late Finish
For project of TfL, network diagram which is developed above represents critical path
that is known as a technique to determine activities necessary to complete workings of project
addition to determine scheduling flexibilities. It is longest sequence of tasks which needs to be
completed on time in such manner that whole project is finished as per set duration (Yang,
2020). Above network diagram is developed through orange and blue arrows in Figure 1. From
Figure 2, it is analysed that critical path to complete the project of TfL in shortest time is
1→2→4→5→9→10→21→22. Shortest time to complete all activities for event that is project of
TfL is 116 days or 16 weeks and 4 days.
