This is the title slide. Today we will discuss the Use of BMP format as an example to explain
file holders.
Slide 2:
The BMP file format that is also known as Device independent bitmap (DIB) or bitmap
image file. Basically, it is a raster type of image file that is used for storing bitmap images
specially in the windows operating systems. The pixels are stored with the depth of colour
that is 1, 4, 8, 16, 32 pixel or bits.
Slide 3:
The slide number 3 is going to discuss the bitmap file header, as the bmp format is containing
the information about layout, size and type of a file that is in bitmap format. The first two
characters are 0x4D and 0x42 and the next four bytes are the size of the file. However, the
next bytes are the storage that are unused and lastly the final four bytes are the offsets.

The 4th slide is going to discuss the usage of the BMP file format. The bmp file format is very
simple for implement, and Most of the BMP files are having a comparatively larger file and
bmp formatted files can be compressed with the algorithm of no loss compression of data. In
addition it is free of patents.
