evaluate own abilities and skills in relation to future aims so that necessary improvement
needs can be identified and development goals can be made for improving them (Bintani,

Short term goals are defined as the short duration goals which are or which can be
accomplished within a year or in a duration of less than one year (Varlejs, 2017). Short term
goals are very important because they help to enhance creativity and to implement quick and
effective strategies for enhancing performance. As compare to other types of goals short term
goals are very quick and effective in terms of providing feedback so that individuals can
develop and groom. Since short term goals are specific, clear and small they also assist in
killing procrastination (Özer, Can and Duran, 2020). For example, my short term goals are:
1. I will get a professional certification course of information technology in 6 months.
2. I will participate in networking events so that communication skills are improved in 3
months.
3. I will try to make better work schedules for next 4 months so that with effective time
management I can complete my tasks on time

Medium term goals are known as the goals which may take longer than one year and ends
up accomplishment in between two to five years. These are considered as more progressive
goals which not only develops professionally but helps to check and keep track of our

evaluation and accomplishment of these goals evaluate that if our existing professional
approaches needs any improvement or they are well implemented. Examples of medium term
goals are:
