INTRODUCTION
Personal learning and professional development can be described as a growth process
through which an individual an individual can strive to become a highly skilled, trained and
knowledgeable within his or her field of interest. Personal and professional learning can be
termed as a continuous approach that needs to be exercised by the individuals in order to elevate
their skill development process and achieve desired outcomes efficient and prominent manner

growth and stability, it is vital for each and every person to engage themselves within the

willingness in an appropriate mannerism.
The report projects a detailed understanding and overview in respect to the meaning and
concept of personal and professional development. It reflects upon the importance as well as the
value of formulating and implementing short-term, medium-term and long-term goals so as to
achieve the personal and professional objective in an optimum approach. Moreover, the
significance of personal development plan and its assistance in helping individuals to achieve
and attain their overall aims and aspirations is also facilitated within the concerned report.

Personal and professional development can considered as an approach through which

be said that there are variety of tools and techniques facilitated by personal and professional
development such as coaching, personal training, professional help, developmental programmes,
mentoring etc. through which individuals can elevate their current standard of performances and
lead towards the realisation of higher performance and productivity within their day to day
activities. It brings in positivity and value based approach within an individual mindset and

career. My short-term goal is to elevate my interaction capabilities in order to facilitate
advance and good conversations with new people and increase my communication skills
to a higher extent which can provide me with an added advantage as well.
Teamwork and coordination are the elements that are extremely important while working
within an organisation. Every employee is expected to work flexibly within teams and

term as well as long-term goals. The reason for the same can be stated as they assist in the
achievement of short-term goals by providing the right direction to the same as well as helps to
concentrate upon taking the right measures in order to accomplish the long-term targets in a
proficient manner (Van Goidsenhoven and Masschelein, 2021). It can be said that the medium-
term goals are relatively attainable and achievable due to their existing relevance and
consistency.
My medium-term goal is to establish a social network. According to my perspective,
social network are highly optimal in allowing individuals to determine the opinions,
perspectives and thoughts of other individuals which in turn can be termed as a essential
element within the social environment. The maintenance of prominent and prolific social
network and assist me In my personal space as well as professional life.
I also feel that it is very important for students to focus upon becoming financially
independent. It can help me with managing my expenses in a satisfactory manner.
Financial independency will allow me to bear my personal expenses and meet up to the
daily requirements without seeking any further help in a considerate manner.
In addition to that, I would also like to invest my time into formulation of journals and
notes that can help me to express myself in a good manner. One of my medium-term

be termed as the aspirations and future outlook that one dream for themselves. In order to
achieve the long-term objectives, individual needs to be consistently focused upon the same.
Also, long-term goals are not achieved overnight, thus persistent effort needs to be catered by an
individual in order to achieve their long-term goals in a prominent manner. It can be said that
long-term goals are very time consuming and tedious (Volman, 2021). It is necessary for
individuals to formulate goals that are attractive to the same in a manner that they are willing to
contribute their major time and effort for the realisation of the same.
My long-term goal is to establish a profitable business enterprise based upon disruptive
innovation. I am an extremely creative person and who is always looking for
opportunities that could be capitalised in order to formulate ideas, plan and processes
through which I can get inspired to launch a business. Hence, starting my own business
outlet will be one of my long-term goals in the future run.
I would also like to concentrate upon saving my finances so as to build financial stability
within my life. I want to invest into profitable ventures through which I can maximise my
earning, support my family as well as fulfil their dreams and desires to the best of my
capability.
I consider myself as a nature and adventure lover. My long-term goal would be to
participate into adventurous sports within the laps of nature such as skydiving, bungee
jumping etc. I believe that nature is a very integral part of human life and every citizen
must contribute their bit towards the enhancement of the same. I also want to start an
environmental initiative through a foundation or an NGO wherein individuals can
contribute and the funding can be raised in order to support and maintain healthy and
sustainable natural surroundings.

individuals can self assess and evaluate their skills and learning (Chastikova, Zherlitsyn and
Volya, 2021). It can be defined as an action plan that allows individuals to align their focus upon
acquisition of skills, learning and knowledge that can elevate the possibility of their overall
individual growth as well as development. The purpose of personal development plan is to
facilitate clarity to the individual in regard with the goals and objectives that they would like to
accomplish in their respective lives. It increases the motivation as well as empowers the
individual to work hard towards the achievement of their desirable goals and future plans.
PDP also building resilience power within the individual that keep them dedicated
towards their work in an enhanced manner (Aguinis and Gabriel, 2021). Personal development
plan also assist people in order to lead the process of self actualization and elevate their self-
esteem to a higher degree of extent. It can be stated that the role of personal development plan is
to help the individuals to formulate a competent blueprint that can guide and direct them and
realize their life goals and desires with sheer prominence.

success and prosperity to an individual. In order to live up to the requirements of the career
prospectus as well as accomplish the personal desires and dreams, it is necessary for each and

life. Also, short goals, medium goals and long-term goals are very important for building a path
that could be followed and relied upon so as to achieve the individual goals in an optimum way.
