INTRODUCTION
Personal development plan is an activity that helps the individual in gaining skills step by step
with the help of proper planning and it will help the individual in making sure that they are
continuously working towards their skills and making sure that they are having the right skill set
which can help them in their personal as well as professional life (Abdollahi and et. al., 2018.).
In this report, personal development plan for individuals are given along with three personal
skills according to the time duration.
MAIN BODY
Define the purpose of professional and personal development.
It is a processes or a set of activities that helps the individual in making sure that they are
engaged in a learning process which can help them in meeting the desired challenges and goals
that can help them in building up their career and will also make sure that they have the correct
skill set which can lead them towards success (Azarenko and et. al., 2018, September.). Effective
professional or personal develop will help the individual in gaining the knowledge and
understanding about the skills that they must have to develop so that they can make sure that
they expertise in the area which can help them in their career and future prospects.
Define the role of short term goals and describe at least three personal goals.
Short term goals are the goals which are needed to be obtained in maximum time of 6
months. These are the stepping stones that can help the individual in moving towards their long
term goals (Baker and et. al., 2019.). It is important for the individual to make sure that they set
their short term goals keeping in mind their long term or ultimate goals. According to me, short
term goals are an essential factor in my overall development. Short term goals help me in
developing those skills which are essential for me to develop in order to fulfil my long term
goals. Some of my short term goals that I needed to fulfil in six months are given below:
The first skill that I have to develop is of effective communication so that I can clearly
communicate.
The second skill that I need to develop is of self confidence which is essential for me.
The third skill that I have to develop is adaptability so that I can adjust in the working
environment easily.

Define medium term goals and add at least three personal goals.
Medium term goals are the one that are needed to be achieved by the individual in the
period of maximum twenty four months. These are the goals that requires more time then short
term goals and contains grater value in the planning of the individual (Chambers, R., 2018.).
These are the goals that are long enough to have a significant growth whereas short enough that
the priorities and values will not get changed. According to me, my medium term goals will help
me a achieving the goals that serves as a significant skills for my career. It will help me in
making sure that I am moving towards my goals more efficiently as I will be able to see
significant growth. These goals will include a significant part of my long term objectives and
will be a bigger stepping stone in my success. The medium skills that I want to achieve are given
below:
I want to develop Interpersonal skills also known as social skills.
I want to enhance leadership skills that can help me in maintaining my team.
I want to maintain work ethics that can help me in my professional workplace.
Define long term goals with at least three personal goals.
Long term goals are the one that requires a maximum time period of five years or more.
They are the goals that have a significant importance in the career of an individual (Ellis, P.,
2019.). According to me, the long term goals are very important in life as it will help me in
keeping motivated all t5he time and will also help me in learning new skills which are essential
for my career.
I want to learn at least two foreign languages.
I want to increase my emotional intelligence.
I want to complete my MBA course with distinction.
Personal development plan.
Personal development plans are the one that helps the individual in planning about the skills that
are necessary for them to achieve in order to make sure that they are moving towards their goals
and objectives. It is important for an individual to create a personal development plan that are
realistic and are according to the preferences of the individual as this will help in maintaining
continuous motivation through out the process as well.
