INTRODUCTION
Professional development plan could be considered as important documents in which the
aim and objective of individual relate to skills, knowledge etc. are mentioned. It is list of
actionable stages that a person can use to achieve set goals. It is a kind of pathway that contain
tactics, skills and learning people need to further themselves in professional and personal career
to reach at professional aims. The current assignment will be based on concept of professional
development plan. This study will describe importance of medium, long and short term goals and
will also justify at least three examples relate to each form.
MAIN BODY
Overview of personal and professional development
Personal & professional development is the key source of success and excellent progress
of a person in life as well as career (Cheon and et.al., 2018). It can define as procedure through
which individual can engage in act of learning and understanding meet challenges & desire aim.
It is one of the best concepts every use by millions of people in his or her life either while
working as employees or a learner. The main motive of above term is to support person in
context of managing their own growth and learning throughout career. This concept is associated
with learning needs of person and development needs of teams. Professional development
includes improving or developing themselves in own role to totally comprehend a job person
could do and how he or she can improve it even better than last few months or years. It also
includes developing important abilities, skills and knowledge that can use to carry out specific
role as successfully as possible as a person would and is something that can continue during
professional life.
It can be said that professional & personal development includes assuring comprehending
and learning of areas of expertise for career is always at top possible degree. It acquisitions of
KBS for better career development, as it added a component of personal improvement. While
considering personal and professional development plan, a person need to think about what
competence and skills they need to accomplish or achieve, in role and for life in common
(Osman and Warner, 2020). It is all about improving and enhancing potential, talents and
abilities, in and out of working areas. Above concept also know as continuous professional
development, as it refers to appropriate instructors improving and developing applicants’ skills to

better meet need of people. There are ranges of approaches accessible in the business world,
which could be used in regard to professional & personal development. It includes reviewing
case studies, mentoring, coaching, consultation and technical assistance. Setting aims, improving
exiting skills and learning from failure are effective personal development tactics that person
could use for gaining current and further benefits. Both terms are valuable as it defines as act that
enhance person competences.
Value of short term aims
Short term goals are something specific that a person want to do in the future. It refers to
an aim or desire individual want to achieve and obtain in order to get desire outcomes on short
term period (Lai and et.al., 2018). It may seem small, but achieving them could lead to wide
accomplishments in his or her career & life. These types of goals are valuable for applicant as it
helps to stay encourages and be productive which is really very essential to do when a candidate
want to grow in personal and professional career even better. It can be said that short term aims
are important because it assists to decrease procrastination, it lay down define and clear way
through which individual get success and permitting them to fully concentrate on one particular
thing at one time. Short term goals allow to focus on useful things as it also help to motivate a
person and strengthen their competence to achieve long term objectives or purpose easier
(Wanna and et.al., 2018).
It acts as milestone in journey of candidate which they could use to reach at long term
aims of his or her life. A short term goal is valuable for everyone in the world because it helps
measure how far an individual have come and how longer they still have in career & life to travel
to achieve final destination like get the best or desire job opportunity. When individual need to
get long term success they have to break his or her dreams into short term goals which is a
valuable and beneficial thing. Three personal examples relate to above concept mention below-
The aim is to develop time management skills
Second aim is to get up early in the morning.
Third goal is to finish daily work on time without making mistakes.
Short term aim bridge divide from where a person is to where he or she want to be in the
future in systematically manner that they could actually gain. These are short for a purpose, as
these need to accomplish within faster manner, might not more than one or two month.

Importance of medium term goals
Medium term aims are quite different from short and long term goals as it might take two
to three months to obtain desire results (Nozaleda, 2019). At some stages in personal and
professional life, a person probably been realizing that they need to set aims to obtain what he or
she want. These goals are those that takes a bit wider, it can be an aim that person need to
achieve in next 2 weeks, months or perhaps 5 months. These aims are effectively set by a person
to achieve somewhere between themselves and shot goals and long as well. Just like above term,
medium term aims are also valuable and beneficial as it offers the best change which a person
could consider and grab to make necessary growth while short enough that they are not a totally
different person by duration they can achieve aim. The best thing about mid-term aims is that it
helps to set many goals over course of lifetime (Madera and Figueroa, 2019).
Medium term goals are important for better career growth as it help to boost efficiency of
a person to be productive. It allows person to stay with his or her achievement in professional
and personal career for longer period of time. These aims needs to be aligned with long term
objectives, every time when applicant accomplish mid goals, they should be one stage closer to
his or her long term aims. It permits person to take short and simple step towards success and
better growth which is really very essential to get longer progress. These all are fantastic to aim
for as it helps to reach long goals. A mid-term goal drives the attention and overall focus of
candidate towards obtaining in future aims. It is valuable because medium term goals help to stay
competitive and productive as well as motivated, it also allows person to take each step which
are important to steady growth towards forever success. It acts as wide stepping stone that
support and contribute to gain personal aims. Examples of med-term aims are:
To by a well furnish house
To start a successful business
To buy a car.
Significance of long term aims
All above type of goals is totally different from long term goals as these can take 6+
years to achieve and provide much better growth from era to year. These are certain things such
as saving money for older age. A person cannot make faster progress on their long aims as it is
not that easy to achieve. It considers as moving aims which drive focus and hard work of an
individual towards achieving complex aims that takes long time (Stephan, Andries and Daou,

2019). These are valuable for personal and professional career as it allows for a successful life. It
can be analyzed that long term goals are essential for both careers as it help person to think about
what education or job and other things could need. Furthermore, it could also contribute thinking
about specific job role applicant want in further which in return permit person to improve his or
her living standards even better than last few months or years. Professional career could take
time, require attempts and also need an effective plan which would include a long term goal.
These are valuable and important to set because of different reasons, such as it help to find out
useful and quite beneficial things which will be used in further. It makes life more interesting
and exciting as well as permit to explore new subject that could help to boost level of knowledge
even better.
By setting long term goals a person can get benefits in term of making his or her decision
easier and driving attention towards obtaining beneficial aims or dreams. Moreover, it permits to
achieve something useful, valuable and great. The overall procedure of setting this form of aim
require careful planning and full attention of person unto.
