Introduction
In the personal and professional development different managing skills are
considered. In the students life academic skill also have an important role which helps in
accomplishing goals of life by developing skills and knowledge (Armstrong, D and et.l.,
2018). This study covers concept of personal and professional development with its short-
term, medium-term, and long-term goals and personal development plan is prepared. Further,
it also discusses sources of evaluation.
Task One:
Concept of personal and professional development
The own development refers to technique of enhancing own abilities and getting
evidence that they require to have for accomplishing goals. It helps in improving self-
knowledge and identity by developing talent and potential (Bridges, W. and Bridges, S.,
2019). The professional development defines to procedure of identification goals and new
skills are learned which helps in growth and success in work. The professional development
in employees can bring promotion, or doing better in current position. This are the course of
action build on values and reflects on skills.
Short-term goals with personal examples
The objectives are framed for small period which is accomplished in sort time frame
involving 4-5 months. The goals help in determining what to achieve in future and what
strategies are required that an individual needs for accomplishing desired goals.
 Examples- Communication skill- I want betterment in communication skill for the
interaction with the different peoples (Coombe, C., 2020).
 I want to learn new different types of languages so build confidence.
 My short-term goal is to gain certificates on various courses by having internships.
Medium-term with personal examples
These goals have lengthy period for attaining desired goals which takes time period of
one to three years. This goal fills the gap between short term and long term. This goal helps
in achieving long term objectives (Lawrence, J. and Hall, G., 2018).
 Example- The goal is to achieve 70% marks in each subject.
 The mid-term objective is to have promotion in higher position.

 To lose the weight for getting healthier life .
Long-term goals identifying with personal examples
The long-term goals are defined as a individual wants to achieve something in future
which entails planning. The objectives have long time frame which takes longer time period
say more than five years (Mashizume, Y and et.al., 2020).
 Example- To get an car or house is a long term goal which needs planning and lot of
money.
 To start an own business in clothing sector.
 To be an CEO of well reputed company and increasing profit by 10%.
Personal Development Plan
The personal development plan is a written statement and described as an action plan
which is used to identify the individual goals and what an person wants to achieve. It
provides self-reflection and improvement which doubles the detail action plan that helps in
fulfilling academic, personal and career based goals (McDonagh, C and et.al., 2019). The
plan can be created within a workplace of when studying in university.
Task Two:
Description of how ‘Author, Purpose, Reliability and Relevance’ affect the
use of a source
These four sources have impact on the development as author is relate to person
name and purpose is defined as objectives which a person aims for accomplishing objectives.
The expert and professionals conduct research on several topics of development for an
