Introduction
Understanding why people works is defined as the various types of responsibilities
and roles of employees within organization. Motivation is basically a set of actions which is
utilized by the top level management of company for increase the motivation level of lower
level workers. The main objective of utilizing various theories by higher authorities is to
facilitate best quality service to customers in long term (Riquelme, Robert and Arancibia,
2022). Theories are also useful for maintain good relationship between employer and
employee or employee and customers for long duration. By applying different types of
motivational theories organization objectives, mission and vision are effectively sustained in
market and between public. This report will be covered concept of motivation, various factors
which motivate employees to work, positive and negative factors employees experience as a
result of their job roles. Strategies to cope with negative factors employees experience as a
result of their job roles.
What does Motivation Mean?
Extrinsic motivation refer to those functions which is used by higher authorities for
completing the responsibilities in time (Zhao and Moen, 2022). But in intrinsic motivation
group of actions are applied by seniors within company for increasing the level of employee
productivity. The theories which are used by various companies are described below -
Maslow's motivation theory -
According to this theory organization are focusing on the basic needs and safety of the
employees for run their activities smoothly. In this theory mainly five stages are involved
which are described below -
Safety needs – It is considered with those factors which is important for their health
and job. It includes use of effective infrastructure with proper ventilation in their
workplace for workers. With help of these type of facility work efficiency and
productivity every employees are easily increased for long duration. In this way
employees put their full effort and utilize their own ideas for doing their work in
effective manner and smartly.
Psychological needs – It is concerned with those factors which is essential for
employees to fulfill their basic requirements on regular basis. It includes air, shelter,
food, water etc. and for fulfilling all these requirements it is mandatory for company

to facilitate decent wage to their workers. Due to facilitating decent wage to their
workers their job satisfaction level are positively sustained effectively.
Love and belongings – In this stage management considered with those factors which
is essential for maintain good relations between employee and employer (Stantcheva,
2021). It includes friends, family and by considering these factors management must
facilitate eco friendly atmosphere to workers in their workplace area. Because with
help of eco friendly atmosphere employees easily share their problems with the higher
authorities without any type of hesitation.
Self-actualization – Here company and individual workers realize their own ability,
potentiality and problems with help of analyzing some case study and feedback of
customers. Due to solving these type of tasks abilities and skills of employees are
highly developed. In this way workers are able handle any type of complicated
problems easily which leads to increase the portfolio of organization effectively.
Self-esteem – It is defined as the respect of individual employee within company
which is maintained by top level management. Because without employee reputation
company are not able to sustain their brand image between public for long time.
Therefore, it is mandatory for organization that they must motivate their employees in
their work with help of good behavior and attitude effectively.
The various factors which motivate employees to work
Salary: It is defined as the salary and wage which is received by all categories of employees
from organization (Kumi and Kamruzzaman, 2021). Due to achieving decent and effective
salary basic needs of the individual are easily fulfilled in time. When workers get good
packages then definitely their job satisfaction level are effectively sustained for long time.
Then in this way employees are always committed towards their job role in long term.
Promotion: It refer to change in prestige and position level of employees in specific time
period. Here the position of workers are changed according to their performance. But it is
also fact that due to changes in their position roles and responsibilities are also increased at
higher rate. Due to this it is necessary for management they must maintain flexibility in their
job role which leads to increase the positive output of company.
Work Environment: It is defined as positive work culture and eco friendly atmosphere
of organization which is essential for run the departmental functions smoothly. Due to
maintaining positive work culture work efficiency of employees are easily increased in long
term. It means good performance are highly essential for increasing their positive result and

also for delivering best quality service to new and previous customers. Due to
maintaining friendly atmosphere higher authorities are able to identify the employees
problems in quick manner.
The positive factors employees experience as a result of
their job roles
Trust in leadership – It refers maintaining trust on senior officers who is the leader
of the team in specific department (Pirzada, Muhammad and Ahmed, 2021). For
sustaining this trust organization must provide effective instructions and guidance to
their workers in workplace area. Due to effective leadership the coordination between
all levels of employees are maintained effectively during the time of doing any type of
project.
Meaningfulness – It means facilitating reliable and accurate information to lower
level employees from top level management. Due to facilitating reliable information
workers are able to solve crucial or difficult problems easily within low time. With
help of reliable content employees are able to understand their responsibilities and
roles in systematic manner.
Development of skills – It is concerned with the internal skills of the workers which
is improved with help of effective training. The talent which is used by each
employee for doing various job activities are analytical and communication skills.
Due to using these talents task are finished easily and in smart way.
The negative factors employees experience as a result of
their job roles
Poor employee management It refer to those team member and particular
employee who did not have any type of ability, potentiality and for doing job (Steel,
Bishop and Taylor, 2021). Due to this chances are increased for decreasing the
productivity and performance of company at maximum level. Due to ineffective
employee management by the leader conflict are also increased between employees
which leads to reducing the good image of leader effectively.
Challenges in task – It refer to assigning challenging and complicated task to all
categories of employees by top level management. Due to providing high targets

workers faced lots of struggle in their career growth. The main reason for facing
struggle in their life is that in high targets employees faced lots of pressure during the
time of doing job. Due to taking high pressure they are not able to doing their task
systematically.
Low salary – It means if employee received low salary and incentives from company
then, definitely their overall performance are easily reduced (Maryani, Entang and
Tukiran, 2021). That means without effective or decent wage employees are not able
to do their work with interest and passion. It leads to increase bad impression on the
organization's objectives mission, objectives and vision in long term.
Strategies to cope with negative factors employees
experience as a result of their job roles
Providing flexibility in targets – Providing flexibility is a very essential concept for
workers. Because due to maintaining flexibility they are able to do multiple works in
their job within low time. Flexibility also helps the employees for reducing their
workload and stress at maximum level which leads to increase the goodwill of firm
between public in long term.
Facilitating chance to express their opinions – It refer to giving chance to other
employees for expressing their suggestions which is essential for organization
(Güleçoğlu and Öztürk, 2021). Because due to taking suggestions from the employees
senior management easily achieved unique ideas and creativity. With help of these
creativity and ideas organization easily developed quality based product product
according to the wants and desires of customers.
Facilitate trust and respect – It refers to always providing fair treatment and respect
to all categories of employees by top level management. Because trust and respect is
the most essential element for keeping good coordination with subordinates and other
senior employees during the time of conducting any big project. In this way positive
word of mouth are also spread by customers towards company at maximum level.

After the analysis of above information it is concluded that motivation plays the
crucial role for enhancing the work efficiency of organization. With help of effective work
efficiency company are able to provide meaningful and detailed information to users about
their products and services. Motivation also helps the employees to fulfill their roles and
responsibilities in time. In this way functions of company are run in smooth manner.
