• Academic skills can be defined as the ability of the individual which helps them to succeed
in academic life. On the other hand, professional skills can be referred to as the ability of
the individual to get more success in the professional career.
• It is very important for the individual to develop the skills through which they can maintain
the standard of living.
• In this presentation various challenges of studying business management will be
undertaken.

Challenges of studying business management and thriving
in professional practice (with appropriate examples)
There are various challenges that students have to face while studying
the business management subject.
It is one of the most challenging subjects for the students because it
requires a high level of motivation and learning skills in order to
effectively gain the knowledge of this subject.
There are mainly five challenges that come in the way of the students
that lack motivation, inappropriate time management, not full support
from tutors, lack of resolutions and stress.

effective way that has been assigned to the team. Students at the initial
stage are not perfect with carrying out the work in a team so it comes out
as one of the main challenges for them.
• Business management consists of various types of subjects and it comes

• Another challenge that comes in the way of the student is the level of stress
because due to the lack of support of the tutors’ students often come into
the stress that creates so much problems for them.

There are various significance of professional skills development that is present and
individuals should adopt these in order to become more successful at the professional
life. Some of the important elements of the professional skills development are

• Increase knowledge and skillset: - One of the main importance of developing
professional skills is that it helps to increase the knowledge and skills of the employees
in the workplace. It facilitates them to learn about the new ways of production and
about new technologies through which they can get more opportunities for work.

achieve the goal of the specific task in a very

WEAKNESSES
• One of my main weaknesses is that I am not able
to effectively communicate with my team
members and with the other people so that all the
activities can be carried out in a smooth manner.

weakness of mine because I am not able to
effectively co-ordinate in clarifying the roles and
the responsibilities.
• From lack of communication skills, it directly
affects my leadership qualities because it delays

• One of the main threads that I usually face is of
my competitors and colleagues who always focus
on to perform better than me at the workplace.
This creates a sense of jealousy and it creates so
many challenges for me in order to accomplish

the workplace. This will help me to hear their problems as well as suggestions that can be implemented in the
