1.0 Self-reflection on personal learning and development,
and the transferable skills
1.1 Identification and reflection on my approach to personal
learning and development
Personal learning and development is focusing on yourself internally and work to
better yourself (Barnacle, Schmidt, and Cuthbert, 2019). My approach towards the
personal leaning and development is as follows:
Set Goals: I have set my goals for learning and development for instance the
professional and academic skills that I need to learn such as communication
skill, time management skill etc. my goals are SMART (Specific, measurable,
achievable, Realistic and time based)
Written those down: I have written my goals on a to do list on a paper and
using some application to track down my progress.
Started small: I have stared practicing my skills on the small level such as
small groups and teams. For example to become a good communicator I try
to communicate with small group.
Improving existing skills: I am working to improve myself by assessing my
current skills for instance I have the reading skills and the computer skills and
I am further working to improve them, I am learning to use new professional
software though online courses.
Learning from my failures: I try to work on my failures and continuously try
to improve myself. I work with positive winners mindset into new learning and
experiences.
Deeper approach: I try to learn thing from root level instead of the surface
level. I work on single skill at one time to learn more effectively.
Measuring my progress and achievements: I try to stick with the path
through continuously measuring my progress. This allows me to modify or
adjust my plan if I am not on the right track. I set the deadlines for the specific
tasks and monitor them continuously for improving.
Feedback: I always try to seek for the feedback from the others such as the
professors, friends, family and others. This helps me to gather broad idea of
my progress it is working or not.
1.2 Identification of the transferable skills I have already developed
by attending this module
Transferable skills are those skills which are commonly used in every field or job.
These skills are irrelevant to the job title or the field (Bastges-Lienshöft, and et. al.,
2021). The transferable skills which I have learned from this module are as follows:
Writing: This skill is a part of communication method. This is essential for
different job careers. Learning this skill helped me to convey my message and
information in more professional way.
Project management: this skill helps to manage a project more effectively
and efficiently from stating the project till finishing it. This skill help to manage
a project's timeline and tasks. The companies also wants a person who can
met the project's deadlines on time.

Management: The management skill includes the assignment of tasks and
managing them. This also includes managing the things are done in the right
way and helping people to overcome the difficulties they face (Bobkina, and
Dominguez Romero, 2022). This skill enabled me to make sure the people
are on the right place and they are doing the work more efficiently.
Teamwork: I have achieved this skill through working with different group of
people. The team work means working with peoples as a team to achieve a
mutual goal. This skill is very essential in the professional environment. This
skill enabled me to make more positive contributions to the team and helping
it to achieve the goals.
Problem solving: Achieving this skill helped me to identification of the
problems and it also helped me to find the cause of the problem and it also
helps to find the solution for the problem. The companies prefer the people
who identify the root of the problems into the tasks or process. Also they
appreciate the people who provides the solutions to these complexities.

whole career in every job and at every place. People with this skill can convey
their ideas and information in a better and concise manner. This reduces the
chances of misunderstanding (Cottrell, 2020). I will work to develop this skill
by communicating with small groups.
Critical thinking: This skill refers to the ability to interpret and evaluate the
information to make the decisions. This also helps in the judgment and in the
conclusion. This skill will help me to look at every detail for differentiating
between the opinions and the facts.
Computer skills: The computer skills will help me to understand the
functioning the computer in the professional environment. This will enhance
my performance at the work and even in the academics. The use of
computers are at every level in today's scenario this will help me as an
advantage in the academics and work environment.
