AI Summary
This project proposal aims to analyze the impact of staff motivation schemes on employee productivity and performance, focusing on Marks and Spencer. It outlines the significance of staff motivation, research objectives, and key research questions. The proposal details the research methodology, including the research philosophy (positivism), approach (deductive), strategy (survey), choice (quantitative), and data collection methods (primary and secondary). It also addresses ethical considerations and data storage security. The research involves a survey of 40 Marks and Spencer employees using probability sampling and a review of existing literature. The expected outcome is a comprehensive understanding of how staff motivation schemes influence employee outcomes and the challenges associated with their implementation.

share and presence. One of the main objectives of the report is to analyze the impact of staff
motivation scheme on performance and productivity of employees.
Research aim:
“To analyse the impact of staff motivation schemes on productivity and performance of
employees”. A study on Marks and Spencer
Research Objectives:

Employees are one of the integral part of an organization and to motivate them is significant
in order to gain growth and success at marketplace. The present study will help researcher to
analyze the influence of staff motivation scheme on performance and productivity of staff
members. Along with this, it help researcher to gain and learn skills such as data collection, data
analysis, data interpretation, communication and many more (Hawley and Hostetler, 2021). It
also help company to know about the staff motivation schemes they used and the challenges
productivity of staff members (Phakiti, 2018). There are various staff motivation practices and

Research Methodology
Research methodology is the procedure and is significant part of an investigation as it help
in conducting appropriate study by using appropriate tools in the best possible and effective
manner. Along with this, it includes various tools and techniques that is used by researcher for
conducting the study along with its justification. In order to follow the process, research onion
framework is taken into consideration that include various layers and is given below:

Collect and analyse data. The two different forms of research philosophy are positivism and
interpretivism. As per the topic of investigation, positivism philosophy is valuable as it help in
gathering accurate and appropriate data within real time situation. Along with this, it also help
researcher to collect data in less time and cost effective manner.
Research approach: It is another layer which will be carried out in an investigation with the
objective to examine appropriate information regarding topic. Deductive as well as inductive are
two main forms of research approach and as per the topic, deductive approach is valuable. The
main reason to select this it assists in examining information which is in quantitative form and
also consider less time of researcher. Apart from this, it also aid in better tasting of data which is
in numerical form.
Research strategy: The next stage of research onion framework is research strategy that
includes different forms of strategies such as experiment, survey, action results, case study and
so on (Meister, 2018). In regards to the present study, survey is effective as a strategy as it will
enable researchers to collect primary and secondary information from valid and reliable sources
due to which there is an appropriate and positive conclusion can be drawn.
Research choice: Another integral part of research methodology which focus on the form of
data that needs to be collected and examined within an investigation. Qualitative and quantitative
are two major forms of research choice. In context to the present study, quantitative research
choice is appropriate as it assists to collect data in numerical form through reliable and valid
sources. In addition to this, it also allow research worker to collect facts as well as figures which
further leads to development of valid conclusion

Data collection: The process through which the data for the present study is collected
known as data collection. The two forms of data collection are primary and secondary sources. In
the present study, both primary as well as secondary method is adopted. Questionnaire will be
developed in order to gather primary information and different books, journals and articles is
taken into consideration for literature review which is the secondary data.
Sampling: It is defined as procedure of selecting an appropriate sample size out of the total
population with the help of non probability as well as probability sampling method. In the
present research, probability sampling is taken into consideration as it assist in choosing large
sample size. Random sampling which is a part of probability sampling will be used and 40
respondents will be selected from the total population. The respondents that is selected are the
staff members of Marks and Spencer and the reason to select them is they have knowledge about
ground working and policies of the company due to which they can provide effective and
appropriate information to the researcher (White, 2019).
