INTRODUCTION
Managing a project is a very important activity of management as the whole project
depends on the strategies and approaches adopted by managers in a project. Project
management is the process of beginning, planning, implementing, monitoring and finishing
the work to achieve desired and specific aims and objectives in order to meet the
expectations and success within the desired time (Meredith and Mantel, 2011). The
research project aims to find the impact of BMW on the business environment of QATAR.
BMW is a German-based multinational Company that manufactures and sells out
automobiles and motorbikes. The company is a well-known brand in the entire country and
known for its luxury and class vehicles. The project focuses on the impacts of establishing
business activity in Qatar.

Project Scope & Aim
The researcher should understand the Aims and limitations of this project, it is very
necessary to know the attractiveness as well as positives and negatives of the research
project (Meredith and Mantel, 2011). The key aim of BMW through this project is “positive
influence economy, social and environment of the Qatar”.
Following are the main objectives of the research project:
 To evaluate the economic needs of Qatar and the impact of BMW in the country
 To evaluate the social needs of the country and the impact of BMW in the society
and culture
 To evaluate the impact of BMW on the environment of Qatar

Project Management Plan
The project management plan is an important activity that ensures that the project is going
in the right direction to achieve project goals and objectives (Meredith and Mantel, 2011).
The project management plan to establish business activity in Qatar includes:

Organizational Structure
Functional Structure
It is a basic structure adopted by the business organizations in which business organization
divided individuals into groups for the specific function. For example finance department,
marketing department.
Matrix Structure
It is a structure in which project department can work with the functional department,
managers of both the department have equal authorities to carry out a project with their
effective decisions (Kirchmer, 2011).
Pure project Structure
This structure is formed specifically for a particular project in which the project manager
has all the rights and authorities to carry out a project and ensures its success. for example,

the team formed for the project of BMW with respect to Qatar business environment is a
pure project structure.
Project Cost & Resources
Cost is the most basic and important aspect of any project, it is necessary to plan the cost
budget of all the business activity such as for human resource cost budget, resources
budget, etc. the researcher needs to effectively assess the market of Qatar and estimate the

Quality & Control
It is very important to consider the quality of the project as the whole project success is
based on the effectiveness of the quality. The researcher’s needs to ensure that the
management plan is time to time inspected and if changes required with respect to
situation, the whole team are clear about that (Bryman, 2016). To ensure the quality the
researcher needs to follow the proper quality plan:

The Plan follows the following steps in order to ensure the Quality of the project and
maintain its effectiveness:
Plan - The first step is creating an effective plan and executes the plan with proper
measurements.
Monitor - It is necessary to evaluate the planned time to time to ensure that objectives are
achieved and plan headed in the right direction (Husebø et al., 2015).
Review - With respect to the monitor activity, the researcher needs to compare the real-
time performance of the plan with expectations and objective that were set for the plan.
Control - Lastly, make proper changes if required in the existing plan and maintain the
effectiveness of the plan.
Communication
It is necessary to have proper communication flow within the plan to ensure that the tasks
are properly discussed and the right decisions are taken according to the situation.
Risk Management
It is necessary to consider all the risks including internal and external factors that affect the
plan in order to maintain the effectiveness of the plan (Kirchmer, 2011). For managing the
risks following consideration are taken by the researcher:

The research project uses a mixed method to carry out research to increase its
effectiveness. The mixed method includes qualitative and quantitative research:
Qualitative Research
Interview method
The interview method is very effective qualitative research in which view and thoughts of
the people are observed through interview questions face to face individually by the
researcher. The interview is conducted for 10 peoples of Qatar with respect to the
establishment of the BMW Company in Qatar (Narula and Pineli, 2017). The interview
questions and answers of 2 peoples are presented below:
Q.) what do you think BMW company coming to your country?
Person 1: BMW is a world has known and a very prestigious brand Qatar definitely benefits
by coming to BMW in the country.
Person 2: as Qatar is still a developing country so having BMW definitely increases &
develops the economy of the country as well as provides good job opportunities to the local
people.
Q.) Is Qatar's economic condition will improve if BMW establishes their business
here?
Person 1: definitely yes, the BMW is a very good brand and people all over the world uses
vehicles of BMW especially peoples in US and UK that makes a huge impact on the economy
of Qatar in a positive way.
Person 2: with respect to the country economy, BMW can benefits the country for sure as it
pays taxes that benefit the country and increase the level of lifestyle.
