COIT20249: Unit Learning Outcome to Use after Graduating as an ICT Professional
Sir, how are you doing? I hope you are doing well. My name is James West. I am a
student at the university pursuing a degree in ICT. As my lecturer, I find it appropriate to inform
you about the COIT20249 Unit Learning Outcome I would like to use after graduating as an ICT
professional. That is, the importance of ethics, codes of behavior, and societal, privacy and legal
issues within the ICT industry.
Personal Information
My name is James West. I am 23 years old and my vision is always aligned with
technology and evolution to new innovations. My passion for information technology originated
from my dad, Peter West. He is an IT expert in Microsoft, Inc. I have learned Most of the skills
in ICT from him as my mentor.
Educational Background
I joined Boston University on 3rd March 2015 as a student pursuing a degree in ICT. I am
glad for many achievements I keep achieving in my area of study. My performance is excellent
for the last three academic years. I have been the top student in ICT category. Most of my ICT
projects are being used in many of ICT companies including Microsoft, Inc.
Work Experience
My work experience is drawn from summer vacations in every academic year of study.
August to December 2015, I worked as a system administrator in a small ICT company called
Java Enterprise. I gained skill on how to administer big data. April to August 2017, I worked as a
networker in a company called DC Innovation. I gained skills on how to interconnect ICT
information from different servers.

COIT20249 ULO: The importance of ethics, codes of behavior, and societal, privacy and
legal issues within the ICT industry
This unit will be very applicable in the field. I am planning to use this unit to bring positive
impacts to ICT industry. From my personal perspective, the ULO above determines the way of
life in ICT industry in terms of ethics, behavior, legal composition and privacy. These factors
build a complete ICT society.
To me, this ULO will help me to achieve more progress on how to assist ICT society. This
will be helpful to me and the society once I graduate as ICT professional. I will use this ULO to
make the society build strong ethics and codes of behavior. It will promote moral uprightness
and integrity in the current society by protecting rights and interests of individuals.
To demonstrate the applicability, I will develop a system that will be applied in many of the
organizations on ethics, code of behavior, societal along with privacy. It will also be applied in
all legal aspects to enhance data protection and integrity. I look forward to your remarks on this
