1VALUES IN CAREER PLANNING
Values Audit:
Values play a vital role in making out the basic framework of a person that is crucial in
projecting the person’s nature and interaction with the outside world (Jimerson 2013). The
highlights I personally value are:
Respect,
Family,
Honesty,
Loyalty,
Acceptance.
I feel that these skills should govern the nature of every personality to become a better person
(Jamieson and Gellermann 2014).
Several hard skills are there that I need to develop over time. These skills include the:
Communication skills,
Presentation skills,
Skills to write a business report,
Skills to learn Australian sign language (Auslan),
Programming skills that are required to create a software using Java script, HTML and PHP.
Capabilities Audit:
Customer service plays a vehement role in defining the success factor of a business. It
demands distinct skills of communication in satisfying a customer. Obligating the customer
and encouraging progressive, assistive and pleasant surroundings will be beneficial in

ensuring that they are well satisfied (Agnihotri et al. 2016). Skills of communication and the
presentation skills are the skills that are helpful in facilitating a business and are helpful
building a better career. However, the fact is that I am currently suffering with a disability in
hearing (Cruickshanks et al. 2015). This disability has affected both of my ears for which I
am using a hearing aid in one of the ears while gone through a cochlear implementation in the
other to cater my minimum hearing ability.
I began my education for my bachelor’s degree in one of the business schools back in
2016. After on boarding my education I made up my mind to search for experience concerned
with the future scope of my employment. This is the reason for which I had to work as part
time employee in a company named Marwa Foods. My position in the office was of a front
end book keeper that allowed me to work with various functions such as the registering the
sales, transaction with the customers, preparing an order list and keeping a regular check on
the inventory. One of the big challenges that I faced while working as the front end book
keeper is that I had to take orders from the customers that were through phone calls or with
real world interactions. The fact that I took more than a year to be accustomed with the
system in the front desk helped me to develop my communication skills while interacting
with the customers, suppliers and with the team having a particular skill set in the business
area. To increase my experience, I acquired valuable lessons about the importance of
communicating as a team and about the quick execution of the tasks among the departments.
In the process of establishing a communication between the departments, I learned
lessons about how high amount of efforts are required to complete the tasks smoothly with
the specific interval of time. In due course, I even developed my writing skills through some
processes such as writing emails to the customers and suppliers. My writing styles also
developed, as I had to prepare financial reports with a span of three months. I have firm
knowledge in the computing skill domain that permits me to design websites, edit photos and

videos. My computing skills have enabled me to support this very department of marketing. I
contributed the department by designing a flyer and by improving the company website of
Marwa Foods (Elgamal, Abas and Baladoh 2013). By 2023, I see myself to be placed in one
of the hearing impairment service sectors with a variety of positions such as IT, marketing,
client services and the administrative positions. I look forward to all the above because I feel
that it will allow me to acquire experience that will drive me further to build new contacts. I
have enrolled myself to a 10 year plan to reach my desired goal. I will remain committed
towards working hard in these ten years and assess myself accordingly.
I have stern intensions in setting up real time goals and stick to a specific plan. I
intend to asses myself from time to time so that I remain well aware of my performance track.
My expected plan is to:
Lead a healthy lifestyle (Corbin and Le Masurier 2014),
Possess a house,
Buy a car,
Explore the different parts of the world while travelling and also attend the seminars
regarding innovative hearing aids of technologies,
Marry and settle down,
Join the Saudi deaf association,
Develop my own website and an application that will serve the persons with hearing
disabilities,
Non-profitably sponsor an orphaned child,
