INTRODUCTION
Data analysis is the process of evaluating data through logical or analytical way where
each component of the data will be examined (Fan, Han and Liu, 2014). Their are various ways
to analyse the data and collect information is useful manner which help the individual to take any
decision. After gathering data, it will analysed, review & then some findings will be concluded.
This report cover various topics such as arranging data in a table form and then presented in
charts forms. In addition, include the calculation of mean, median, mode , range or standard
deviation and in the last use linear forecasting method to evaluate y = mx + c.
MAIN BODY
1. Arrange data in tabular form
Data collected from timeanddate.com of 10 days temperature of Bristol, UK of the 2018.
it is represented in tabular form (Weather of Bristol, England, UK, 2019).

Mean: Mean is the value which is also called the average value of available range and it
will be calculating through addicting each observation of sample and then divided into total
number of observation. Sample of data include few sample of whole population and population
means whole (Heeringa, West and Berglund, 2017). Their are following steps which are
necessary to follow for the calculation of mean and it will be discussed below:
In first step, select the whole range of data.
Divided by total number of observation.
Formula:
fx = Sum of range

Divided by total number of observation.
Formula:

f = Total number of observation
Mean of the above data range is 6.3 which will be calculated by using excel.
Median: It is a middle number of the whole observation which separated the data from
upper to lower value. If data range have unequal observation then odd one of the range is the
median of that particular data. If in case of even observation then middle two values will be
considered as median value. Here is the steps which help to calculate median:
Add the whole range of data (Ogden, 2012).
if observation have odd numbers then middle value will be median.
If not then middle two numbers will be median of the series.
Formula:
n = number of observations
Median of the given series is 8 which is based on the above calculation.
Mode: In the data series, which number is appearer the most is called mode of the series.
If there is no number repeat then consider no mode. Their are following steps are required to
follow:
Firstly set the series in ascending order which clearly shows that, if number is repeat.
Choose the number which repeating most of the time.
Mode of the available data is 7 which is mentioned in the above table with excel
calculation.
Range: It provide the difference between maximum or minimum value for the purpose of
identifying range. Here, lower value deducted from higher value and there is following steps
required to follow:
Identify the both value, means lower or higher value.
Subtract lower value from higher value of the series.
Formula:
Range = MAX -MIN
= 10 – 2
= 8

Mean of the above data range is 6.3 which will be calculated by using excel.

Standard Deviation (SD): SD used for the measurement of group which spread from
mean to expected value. Is is used to identify the variation in the series of numbers ( Shuman and
et.al., 2012). Their are various steps required to follow for the calculation of SD and it will be
discussed below:
Data arrange in a continuous series and then formula applied according to requirement.
In the end, Standard deviation is calculated by using below mention formula.
Formula:
Standard deviation of the available data range is 2.5317977802.
4. Calculation of m or c by using indicators
Days Temperature (X) Y = mx+c
1 7 50
2 10 65
3 8 55
4 8 55
5 5 40
6 4 35
7 3 30
8 2 25
9 7 50
10 9 60
Calculation of m = change in Y / change in X
Calculation if c = For this calculation, it remains constant and using c = y-mx formula.
By using above mentioned value, c & m calculating through forecasting function where
temperature of 15th day was 8.88 and 23rd day was 1.6. these calculation will be done by using
excel and the function of FORECAST(Value;data of x;data of y).
