COMMON CHALLENGES AND BARRIERS FOR EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION
People felt loss of income, isolation, mental health, insomnia and anxiety with that the economy and social loss was at risk due to pandemic as people were
becoming more poor and many worse situations. There are some common challenges and barriers for effective communication which are explained below.
PHYSICAL BARRIERS
Pandemic was a challenge for all the people whether they are employees or employers and when
the pandemic was on peak employees were scared to use public transports and they did not feel
comfortable, safe as it was risky for the people on spreading the virus
SOCIAL BARRIERS
Due to regional disparities including differences in languages, social cultures and behaviours such type
of barrier to communication is caused. This type of barrier causes miscommunication and could be
potential cause of lack of productivity at the workplace.
EMOTIONAL BARRIERS
After the pandemic, employees choose to work from home as they can manage the work as per
their schedule for example they can drop the kids or attend any online classes now, it is easier to
balance the work from home. Employees feel more free while working from home and moreover,
their money can be saved as they were not required to go office and this saved the cost of lunch,
professional clothes, car maintenance, parking and other expenses.
TECHNOLOGICAL BARRIERS
Reflecting on the outbreak of COVID-19, many companies have allotted WFH to their employees.
In its inclusion, employees felt comfortable at home as they got more time for themselves such as
for physical activities or sometimes. However, effective communication is must needed in such
times. But due to lack of innovative or up to date technology it leads to barriers to communication.
Social barriers
Such type of barriers arise due to lack of knowledge of an individual in regards to language or
cultural behavior communication by other individual.

The correct information can be outspread on all the digital platforms and social media to educate the
employees about the pandemic as the young adults are engaging with the technology during this crisis.
People trust on the credible sources and at the same time they will be more aware about the false news and
wrong information which can motivate the employees to get back to the work

Another strategy for overcoming communication barrier could be in regards to communicating one thing at a
time.
Diversifying communication channel
Through diversifying communication channel better results can be obtained in regards to clarity of workplace
goals and objectives. This will enable better form of communication in regards to complex business
environment.
Use of technology to facilitate communication
By using innovative technology communication can be enabled in regards to resolve business issues and
market challenges. For this strategy use of technology for communication will deliver productive outcomes.
