INTRODUCTION
Business communication is the process of transmitting the information between the
workforce within and outside the organisation. For the business to gain productivity and
prosperity it is very important to have effective business communication in which employees and
management of the company interact with clarity in order to reach business goals (Guffe and
Loewy, 2021). The present report will discuss the general theories of organisational
communication. Also, the report will analyse the barriers of communication in Brit-tech. In the
end the Brit-tech strategies are outlined to solve the barriers.
Analysis and Discussion of all questions
Theories of organisational communication
The contemporary organisations are comprised of wide spaces, diversified workforce,
multiple business strategies and operations. In order to have effective and conducive flow of
information it is important to have effective business communication. In order to deploy the
effective communication there are some effective communication theories that are discussed
underneath:
Weber’s classic organisational communication theory for fixed structure: the management
theorist like Max weber has derived the organisational communication theory according to which
organisational communication was bureaucratic theory. As per this theory the role and
responsibilities of the employees is clearly defined through effective communication as through
the company has structured and clear communication.
Advantages of this theory
With this theory the organisation gains a benefit of minimising the scope of
miscommunication between the top and lower management.
Under this theory the communication is prominence to merit as when the roles and
responsibilities are allocated and people work together with effective communication.
Tompkin's and Cheney's organisational communication theory:
This theory of communication is expansion of the Max Weber theory of communication.
Under this theory of organisational communication, the individual employee put efforts to
influence the other employees through effective communication in the system (Khamis and
Wahi, 2021). According to the Tompkins and Cheney's the organisational network and structure

is useful in interpreting how individuals interact in order to build a successful organisation. As
per this theory the organisational control is the activity of communication that consist of verbal
and physical actions to mitigate the resistance and to practice to have authority over others.
Advantages of this theory
According this theory, the manager and the employees of the company have separate
interest to communicate which foster the productivity among the subordinates at the
minimum cost.
This theory of organisational communication is important for both management and its
employees as through this thy are able to deploy effective negotiation can change the
organisational context in the format they interact.
Barriers of communication
It is critically evaluated that business organisations come across several barriers of
communication that become reasons for their unwillingness to return to office. Some of the key
barriers at Brit- tech are discussed below:
Physical barriers: lack of social distance at the workplace is the major physical barrier that
employees face and due to which they resist to go back to work. Employees are highly concerned
for their health and well-being and lack of social distancing while travelling through public
transportation is major risk to heath.
Emotional Barrier: the employees working remotely believe they have higher productivity
during work from home. Also it is observed that many employees of the Brit- tech are ready to
leave the firm in order to work from home (Biočina and Rajh, 2022).
Organisational structure Barriers: the employees of the organisation are afraid of obeying
social distancing measures in the workplace setting and also lac of ventilation.
Perceptual barrier: also there is the perception among the employees that they feel irritated
and annoying towards the employees that are not vaccinated.
Brit-tech strategies to overcome barriers
In order to aid and support the staff at Brit-tech in terms of safe travelling fro home to
office and office to home the company has improvised new work scheme. The company
has reduced the working hours for the employees travelling through public transport in
order to avoid peak travelling hours. Also the company has been giving 10% discount on
Uber.

The company has switched to hybrid mode of working in which employees have to work
only 2 days a week from office.
The company has also installed the sanitization stations and PPE kits are provided
throughout the office for the safety and also free lunch service is provided to motivate the
employees to work from office (Toxirovna, 2022).
To increase the employee engagement, the company has also added the games like table
football, dart in the cafeteria in order to encourage and motivate the employees to interact
with each other.
Also the company has developed the feedback system where the employees can share
their problems, ideas, feelings on weekly basis which will be reviewed by the
management of the Brit- tech in order to improve their working environment.
The company has also re-structured their floorplan to maintain social distancing
guidelines.
Recommendations
The organisations like Brit tech are suggested to adopt the change manage plan within
their organisation in order to make the workplace more appealing for the workforce to re-
join the offices for work rather than choosing work from home scenario.
The company is also suggested to plan some employee engagement activities or trips in
order to increase the willingness of the employees to come back to workplace at this will
motivate the employees and also remove the barriers of communication.
Also company should take proper care of sanitization and social distancing at the
workplace as it is very important for the wellbeing of the employees (Nawaz, 2021). The
company should also install the vaccination camps for the employees to get vaccinated
and in order to make the Brit- tech 100 % vaccinated and sanitized workplace.
CONCLUSION
From the above report it is concluded that for the effective business communication after
the situation of the Covid-19 the organisations must treat every employee fairly and with respect.
The organisational communication theories are used to deploy effective communication within
the organisation. The company must mitigate the barriers of the business communication such as
physical barriers, emotional barriers, organisational structure barriers in order to work effectively

within the organisation. The sanitization of workplace, new organisational structure, regular free
health check-ups for the employees are the effective strategy that organisations should choose in
order to remove barriers and also to motivate the employees to rejoin the offices by showing
them safe workplace.
